I've been fluey since Chistmas, that is almost gone now, but now I'm getting stabbing ear pains that are getting worse. I've had loads of ear infections before, it starts like this and sometimes builds up to horrible pain and I gt antibiotics, sometimes just feel dizzy for a few days.

Anyway, I said 'eek, I can feel an ear infection coming, hope it goes away' and DH said 'I had never heard of ear infectins before I met you. You always over medicate everything. I bet if I had it I wouldn't notice'

AIBU to think that I know if I have pain in my own ear?

Y might BU. My mother is constantly saying she is coming down with something, then suffering with something, then getting over something. If you are doing this with ear infections then YABU. Mention it once and i'd give you sympathy, twice and it'd annoy me Grin

There seems to be a virus going round that is affecting ears. Few people with same symptoms at my workplace. Antibiotics won't help a virus though.

So just because he hasn't heard of ear infections that means they don't exist Hmm
They do, and they fucking hurt

dp had the same attitude as him.......until he ignored his raging ear infection too long resulting in a slug type thing snaking down the side of his face when the abscess in his ear finally burst. Shock

Tiny, you obviously haven't had an ear infection then. I had my first since childhood last year and was in too much pain to sleep after three different types of antibiotics. I ended up having it 'hoovered' out on Christmas Eve. Yuck!
