I am a massive Doctor Who fan hence my user name. I have all the stories on DVD or video, have most of the books which have been well read. Subscribe to Doctor Who Magazine and am a member of The Doctor Who Appreciation Society and have had a couple of articles I've written published in their magazine. My DH can't understand my love of it, he tolerates the new episodes but refuses to watch any of the older ones. He is away at the moment so I'm having a Doctor Who marathon.

Please tell me I'm still 'normal'.

Well if you're not neither am I grin

Of my household three of us are massive Dr WHo fans, me, DD2 aged 18 and DS2 15. DS2 has autism and learning difficulties but his knowledge of Dr Who is phenomenal. We love to quote episodes at each other and the rest of the family think we are a bit sad!

But who cares!!!?

(Also serious Buffy freaks too!)

YANBU at all - I love Dr Who!

SamuelWestsMistress Sun 13-Jan-13 21:42:33

There are lots of us on here, including at least one official writer!

I've been a fan since the start, when I was 7 years old. Luckily for me, DH is also a fan - we were both at the first ever Doctor Who convention, which was at a small school hall somewhere in South London.

Normal is overrated grin

Been watching since the 3rd Doctor.

Geekster Sun 13-Jan-13 22:13:38

Glad there are so many of us out there. Would love to go to a convention to meet like minded fans as don't know any in RL.

Love The Doctor (hence my user name!!)

DH bought me all of the David Tennant dvds for christmas last year, best present ever.
Even DD (9) is a total Dr Who geek too, she knows loads of stuff about it and watches them all with me.

CoolaSchmoola Sun 13-Jan-13 22:16:24

Another Doctor Who geek here grin.

Oodsigma Sun 13-Jan-13 22:17:09

Completely normal! Certainly in my house anyway!

Geekster Sun 13-Jan-13 22:17:47

Like your user name Gallifrey. Hoping my DD will love it too already 'showing' her episodes even tough she is only 10 months old. Never too early!

Geekster Sun 13-Jan-13 22:18:55

Another good user name Oodsigma.

CaseyShraeger Sun 13-Jan-13 22:24:50

Is UnquietDad still here, Rusty, or is there another official writer in our midst?

Oodsigma Sun 13-Jan-13 22:35:12

I wondered that casey

degutastic Sun 13-Jan-13 22:38:02

You are NEVER unreasonable to love the Doctor. Massive geek here too. We even call my dog Bad Wolf...

But then, I love Doctor Who, Star Trek, Buffy, Angel and all sorts of geektastic things so I may not be the most unbiased opinion ever wink

degutastic Sun 13-Jan-13 22:38:51

And I taught the Bad Wolf to drop "dead" on a dalek impression "Exterminate" grin

RustyBear Sun 13-Jan-13 22:42:11

I think he is here occasionally but has namechanged, Casey.

Glad to see you're starting your DD young, Geekster - my DD grew up in the gap between the classic Who and the New series, so we had to bring her up on the videos - I think Tom Baker is still her favourite Doctor.

MissPricklePants Sun 13-Jan-13 22:43:15

<waves> I am a Doctor Who geek!

Geekster Sun 13-Jan-13 22:45:12

Tom Baker is great, just been watching The Seeds of Doom.

Sneets Sun 13-Jan-13 22:48:29

Yahoo Dr Who!!!!!!!!!!!

Most excellent. I've just watched back the 9th Dr and Rose episodes; fab! My hubby, me and our 2 sons age 12 & 7 love it, as does my mum.

Loved 10th Dr on looks but 11th is so funny and geeky, oh yes mist excellent. Bring it on Geeks!!

Sneets Sun 13-Jan-13 22:49:17

Most excellent obviously pea brain I am

CaseyShraeger Sun 13-Jan-13 22:50:40

Bah. He had the best name on Mumsnet.

DS has David Tennant as his Doctor. DD1 has Matt Smith as hers and unless MS sticks around for a good while DD2 will have whoever Twelve is. Still, should make for some lively discussions at mealtimes.

I am old enough to have seen them from the begining. Dr. Who freak.
I went to uni with Tat Wood.
