To think MIL putting her nose in DS mouth is totally out of order?

She first did it when DS was 3 weeks old. When I mentioned it to DH he said he saw her do it but she probably wouldn't do it again which she didn't until this afternoon twice!! DS is 6 months but no matter how old he is I don't her or anyone's nose in his mouth AIBU?

Bowlersarm Something that some of the older generation do? If anyone I know / knew had done it, it would have gone the rounds like wildfire! Where did you get that notion from? I've never heard before of an adult nose being put into a baby's mouth.

While I do agree with people saying your ds will try eating worse things I do find it annoying when people mil especially deliberately put inappropriate things in my ds's mouth e.g. noses, dirty smokey fingers and pens...pens annoy me so much! My ds wobbles about and puts them to the back of his mouth aided by mil ready to fall and hurt himself! Do some people just have no common sense?!

Apparently I used to love sucking my dad's nose when I was a baby. That was only 1991, so I don't think it's necessarily an older generation thing. FWIW, I turned out fine!

Was it the tip of the nose or the nostril. If it was the nostril area, then yuck yuck yuckity-yuck. But if it was just the tip of the nose, I struggle to see the harm in that?

bowlersarm my mum used to give dd's the knuckle of her little finger to suck on at times. Usually when they were teething, and sometimes if they were screaming for boob and I was temporarily occupied (showering fo rexample). They'd think it was a nipple and it would give me a few grace seconds to finish up what I was doing before they realised

YANBU for the 3 week nose invasion, I had a similar experience with 1 day old DC. We were still in hospital, DC about 24 hours old and MIL thought it appropriate to nuzzle her face all over DC's. Drove me, and my hormones, mad.

At 6 months however, they're starting to roll and crawl and probably picking up far more germs from the floor tbh. However, if it really bothers you I would say something.
