to think I can never vote Conservative again until...

it is revealed and fully investigated who all the Conservative people are who were involved in the child abuse ring in Barnes?

It's now being reported in the news that there is evidence that links Elms Guest House in Barnes, Rocks Lane, to a network of abusers who were abusing children from a local RIchmond run care home called Grafton Close between 1979 - 1982 at the guest house. The woman (carol Kasir) who ran the guest house passed on evidence to two people at NAYPIC (National Association of Young People in Care - closed down due to lack of funding - or perhaps because they asked too many questions? Can't we campaign to get their funding back?) before she died in 1990 and was also able to show them photos of -

  • a former tory cabinet minister in a sauna with abused boys
  • a former top policeman
  • Sir Anthony Blunt (long rumoured to strangle boys to death while raping them) who is said to have used the name Anthony Goldstein when signing in to the guest house

Apart from photos they now also have evidence in the form of receipts, paying-in slips as well as diary notes etc. which links to:

  • 2 former Conservative cabinet ministers
  • a further 7 MPs: four other Tories, 2 Labour and 1 Liberal
  • a leading National Front figure (now dead)
  • a Sinn Fein member
  • 2 Buckingham Palace officials
  • several figures with links to the Monday Club, a well known hard-right Conservative group
  • 2 pop stars

AIBU to think that despite the mix of pop stars, Sinn Fein and NF, there is a mere sprinkling of representation from the other political parties and that the conservatives appear to be over-represented in the paedophile category here?

Definitely casts some light on Cameron's strange comment on This Morning that accusations of paedophilia were tantamount to homophobia - I wondered at the time what on earth he was going on about. At the time I thought, but the gender of the child is irrelevant to whether someone is a paedophile or not, it's the age surely, so gay or straight, anyone can be a paedophile because in reality, it is a sexual orientation that cannot be re-programmed in much the same way as you can't make a gay person straight or a straight person gay (hence why rehabilitation, is not really an option).

I really hope there are other previous Conservative voters out there who feel the same and want to push for the fullest investigation possible (well at least until MI5 pops up and shuts it down) - no matter what their policies are and whether I agree with them, I can't vote for them until there is a full inquiry into their own paedophiles within their ranks and who and how they were concealed from prosecution, even now. Why have we been so focused on the BBC and 70s celebrities when people who are currently in power or who have power are abusing children and it is known by their 'leader'?

Clean up now Cameron, please, the general election might seem far away but a vote of no confidence might be closer than you think.

I hate to be cynical but I don't think we will ever know because the "powers that be" will always protect their own.

I also think yabu just focusing on the Tories, it seems slightly endemic atm. I can imagine that what has already been revealed is a fraction of the actual truth, it's horrific and quite frankly unbelievable .

Also why on earth did Paul Daniels come out and admit that he had kissed an underage girl? That seems very flipping odd, obviously picking up a girl and kissing her and then finding out she was underage is bad, but not exactly note worthy Confused.

please link to any evidence when making these accusations.
Cameron's comment about gays was because a lot of people link gay and paedophile and a lot of accusations were against older single men.
In reality 80% of abuse happens within the family and involves married men.

Well if a lot of people link gay and paedophile, then I don't think Cameron should be reinforcing/adding to that, the ham faced imbecile Angry

Viper - I don't think they have a hope in hell's chance of containing it now. Or I guess that's what I hope. All the other times (e..g 8 previous North Wales abuse enquiries before Waterhouse Whitewash report in 2000/ police being told to stop enquiries into Barnes in 1982/ arson attacks killing former NW abuse victims in Brighton etc.) there was either no internet or the internet was just beginning so the content and discussion and sharing of information had not happened as it has now.

None of the mainstream media are touching it with a bargepole after the McA fiasco, so that had the precise chilling effect intended. However, I think a resurgence of investigative journalism is on its way. The only site I can find reporting on Fairbanks is exaronews.com which appears to have been set up by two ex-guardian journalists who are reporting on the Barnes child abuse. Also you can bet your bottom dollar the good old NoW vaults (and The Sun) have a lot of stuff they hacked, heard, stalked, paid for that still exists somewhere. Rebekah Brooks is still looking fairly chipper.

youngermother1: I have summarised the article from //www.exaronews.com. Unfortunately it's subscription but if you want to read anything I am quoting/paraphrasing you can get a 7 day free trial which is what I did (they don't ask for any card details, it just cuts you off after 7 days)

The headline of the article is: Revealed: Diaries and Receipts of for guest house in police probe / Exaro tracks down papers from Elm Guest House from period of MP's alleged abuse

dated 19 December 2012 by journalist David Pallister

However most of the articles on Exaro about Operation Fairbanks have been written by David Hencke who was the westminster correspondet for the guardian from 1986 - 2009 and won policitcal journalist of the year 2012

From wikipedia on David Hencke: David Hencke is a British investigative journalist and writer.
Hencke joined The Guardian in 1976, becoming the newspaper's Westminster Correspondent in 1986. He has won numerous awards for his political coverage. [1] He was named 'Political Journalist of the Year' at the British Journalism Awards 2012.[2]
In 1994 he was named What the Papers Say Journalist of the Year for his investigation which uncovered the ?Cash-for-questions affair?. His exposé led to the bankruptcy of Ian Greer Associates, one of the country?s biggest lobbying companies, and the resignations of two junior ministers, Neil Hamilton and Tim Smith (UK politician), who have both since left politics.[3]
In 1998 he won Scoop of the Year for a story that caused the first resignation of Peter Mandelson, over a secret undeclared £373,000 home loan given to him by fellow Treasury minister, Geoffrey Robinson.
He now works as an investigative journalist for Exaro and as the Westminster correspondent for Tribune.

I'm sorry MadeAVeil, I really think you are on a hiding to nothing. The BBC managed to make the whole Saville thing all about them, endless navel gazing and introspection.

The media are never happier than when chuntering on endlessly about the fucking media. Nobody actually gives a shiny shite about the Leveson stuff, apart from the fucking media.

They would much rather endlessly and pointlessly examine their role and chunter on about legislation than actually investigate and report well actual news that effects real people.

The whole media is owned by the people whose interests lie in keeping the media in a vicious circle.

That McAlpines suing of Sally Bercow, is actually pathetic, she didn't even name him there were thousands of people outright naming him, yet he goes for someone both public and contentious (female) it makes me sick.

I hope that you do never vote conservative again, but I think YABU all the same. I hate the Tories with a passion, but I don't believe that paedophilia has anything to do with politics.

And I think you need to be very careful about naming individuals unless you have absolute proof.

I don't think I said they were paedophiles because they were tories Purple2012. Certainly not what I think. My point was that I could no longer vote for a party that is not going to ensure that it's members who happen to be paedophiles are punished and prevented from abusing more children. There are too many questions to answer and how they deal with this is pretty much defining for me in terms of how I will vote, since euro and fiscal policy kind of slides into ignominy for me when I weigh it up against child abuse - I can't say, oh well they're budget approach is spot on, I think they'll lead us out of the recession, a few 'rent-boys' (such a shit word for child prostitutes) being abused is nothing to do with that - where it is being reported that paedophiles have long been able to hide within their ranks. I would feel the same about Labour (who I have also voted for) and Lib Dems (never voted for!). If it turns out the COnservative government have people currently in parliament that are abusers and that have been named as abusers in a number of police investigations and inquiries over the years (whether as advisers or MPs or members of groups like the Monday club) I will be wondering why they did not act

Tenpercenter - I believe any political party in power for more than 10 years is a bad thing for a country, as is too much upheaval (two terms is enough for me) so I change my vote accordingly. We don't have too much choice in this country between political parties as it is and none of them ever deliver what their manifesto promises so I don't pay too much attention to that either. I just vote for change of personnel. Whoever you vote for the government always gets in right? That's about all that's on offer. However, this has changed my view. I'm sure Conservatives are not remotely bothered I won't be voting for them again. Some will be too preoccupied with trying to remember how they used to pay for child prostitutes and hoping they paid cash and didn't ask for a receipt. They're not going to be bothered about much else I should imagine.

And yes I agree with you that suing Sally Bercow was a ridiculous move. Why not sue David Icke who published a book naming him and made money out of it? But I guess he just has to pick off who he can when faced with such horrible allegations. This has haunted him for ages. He even told the Telegraph he had to send a solicitor down to the Waterhouse inquiry in 1997 to sit and observe the tribunal in order to check if his name was mentioned in the Inquiry and report back so he's been dealing with these allegations for at least 15 years now if not more, so you can see why he's tired of it.

I strongly suspect that although Tory mps are mentioned, there were cross party folk involved in this. Whilst I hate the Tories with a vengeance, I would hazard a guess at there being similar number of people in all parties with dubious sexual tastes. I can remember my brothers being advised to keep away from a Liberal mp, from a young age, and they were kept an eye on if he happened to be around.

"please link to any evidence when making these accusations."

"In reality 80% of abuse happens within the family and involves married men."

Arf at linking with out linking yourself.

From the last CP seminar that I attended 80% is about right but the figures for male/female abusers where 51/49% and on the male side it was predominently close relatives and step fathers.

Never mind all this- what about what Thatcher was trying to do in the 80s - well scary!
