AIBU?

To take us all out to the beach...

Even though it's pissing it down? I'll wrap up DS (2) and if it's terrible we can duck into the cafe. I just can't spend anymore time indoors! We're all getting cabin fever.

Am I a horrible mum?

It's getting worse. Oh God, what can I do with a frustrated 2yo? Worth stalling him up in willies and going puddle jumping in the back garden?

I LOVE the beach in bad weather, but alas, no longer live near enough.

They won't melt if they get wet

I've just taken DS (13 months) for a walk down the front and it's pissing down here too

Was nice to get some fresh air! YANBU

Do you all (or at least ds) have waterproof trousers/coats/wellys. If you do then go for it.

And a warm blanket for the car on the way back.

There's no such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing.

Get him in his wellies and waterproofs and go! I'd love to have a beach close enough, I grew up by the sea and Boxing day beach/prom walk (depending on tide) was a tradition.

We had a walk along the river this morning, cafe in the park was open, lots of doggy people sharing the two outdoor tables, just the job. (not raining here though)

Get wrapped up and get to the beach! I love the beach when the weather is crap, as does DS.

go to the beach. If he is really wrapped up with wet weather gear then no problem.

We are always at the beach, rain or shine

It's pissing down here as well, and blowing a gale so we're staying put

We had planned to go down to the beach on the new bikes and scooters so I could play with my Christmas present (swanky camera) but the level of moaning and whinging won't make it an enjoyable experience for anyone.

It's awful out there today

Go to the beach!

Your reward will be when you get home and have a tired child and you can get dry and warm again :)

Yanbu. We've been, nearly got blown away, got wet and now we're home, warm and about to eat left over Xmas dinner.

I'm back. We nearly got blown away, DS tried jumping in and we are all drenched but it was lovely! DS has a big puffy waterproof all in one, so he was fine. DH tried to teach him how to skip stones, but DS ran off, came back with a rock and dropped it on DH's toe. snigger

Oh, and it's stopped raining as we got in the door!
