DH didn't wake me when the kids got up do they've opened all of their presents without me being there.

I shopped for them, paid for them, wrapped them and stuck them on the end of their beds.

He did fuck all apart from enjoying watching them open them and right now I hate his fucking guts. Very unseasonable I know, but I'm too upset to care.

I would be furious. What was his reason?

EMS23 Tue 25-Dec-12 06:27:21

That's awful, YANBU. Very thoughtless of him. But park it for the rest of the day, try to enjoy the day and think of suitable punishments as you go!

Sirzy Tue 25-Dec-12 06:27:50

Oh no, I would be fuming to!

We always have the rule "no presents until everyone is up"

StaceymReadyForNumber3 Tue 25-Dec-12 06:29:16

YANBU! Ridiculous and rude!

as an aside do people's kids honestly wake up and have their presents this early? My dcs haven't stirred yet!

MyCannyBairn Tue 25-Dec-12 06:30:35

Omfg what an idiot.

FaLaLaLaLauraPalmer Tue 25-Dec-12 06:31:03

Maybe he appreciated all of your hard work and thought wrongly that he was being a good husband to let you have a lie-in?

Sorry you missed the present unwrapping. But try not to let it ruin your day!

comedycentral Tue 25-Dec-12 06:31:16

That's awful. So sorry OP, I would be devastated actually.

SayMama Tue 25-Dec-12 06:34:28

I'd be absolutely gutted sad

JeezyOrangePips Tue 25-Dec-12 06:34:38

YANBU. We have always had a rule that everyone has to be up before gifts are opened.

I would be furious too. As Laura says, try not to let it ruin your day. But that's a big ask.

Alligatorpie Tue 25-Dec-12 06:35:40

I would be pissed off! Your Dh is an arse!

bradywasmyfavouritewiseman Tue 25-Dec-12 06:38:22

My kids are still asleep. We are up waiting for them.

Yanbu that is really twatish.

Did he think he was doing you a favour by letting you sleep in?

HollyBerryBush Tue 25-Dec-12 06:39:12

Are your children very small?

We never allowed present opening until the last person is up.

BoysAndGhouls Tue 25-Dec-12 06:39:34

sad why would he do that! Poor you, still waiting for mine to wake up.

KeemaNaanAndCurryOn Tue 25-Dec-12 06:41:39

Gutted is the right word. I'm in the sodding bathroom crying at the mo so I can compose myself and not upset the children.

Apart from the one present for me, I've bought everything else, including the stuff for dsd. He did fuck all other than enjoy the outcome. I just can't get over how he didn't think that it would be a problem.

I'm waffling, but I'm really, really upset.

redwallday Tue 25-Dec-12 06:44:11

No wonder you are upset!! angry what a thoughtless thing to do sad Hope you manage to enjoy the rest of Christmas. Give him a roasting when kids are in bed.

Oh no, that's awful. I would feel awful. Mine went downstairs with dh this morning when I was in the bathroom so I missed seeing their faces when they saw Santa ad been and I wasn't happy about that!

Jemma1111 Tue 25-Dec-12 06:57:03

Thats bang out of order !

What's his excuse?, is he apologetic for being a thoughtless twat?

ThePigOfHappiness Tue 25-Dec-12 06:58:34

Yanbu I'm in work until 8 and I've told dp to lock the sitting room so I can come home to see them open their gifts. I would be so upset if he didn't,

MrsMushroom Tue 25-Dec-12 07:02:01

Yanbu but you really WILL have to get over it or the DC will have their memories spoiled by you sobbing. Move on past it. Have a lovely day and play with the DC and the toys. Make DH cook breakfast.

GrumpyOldWomanToo Tue 25-Dec-12 07:02:29

Stockings are for opening right away, but wrapped gifts have to wait till everyone is up.

MrsSchadenfreude Tue 25-Dec-12 07:08:41

YANBU. I would be steaming too.
