I did not do pregnancy well.

I did the newborn stage even less well.

But toddlers are AWESOME funny little livewire, chatterbox, giggly bundles of fun.

I love my Fridays off Grin

You didn't have my ds! 18 to 30 months was one of the worst times of my life, I was on my knees!!

My 18 month old brother is a loon. I could watch him toddling about and doing random and strange things all day Grin

My 3 year old just calls me a poo poo head and tells me to go home. Not so much fun Xmas Grin

Although interestingly I loved pregnancy and newborn stages ad also enjoyed my dd at 18 months but ds had to be watched constantly and seemingly told "no" constantly too

DS is 16 months and hilarious! They've been learning a 'Christmas rhyme' at nursery which he keeps "singing" and doing the actions to - but I've never heard the real version so I'm trying to decode it from what he's saying. There may or may not be birdies, a star and the words "there you are" in it Xmas Grin

And it's not just me being biased, he made strangers on the train to work laugh out loud the other morning so I know he's funny!

Oh hilly :( I'm fully prepared for tantrum drama and things to go downhill a bit but 12 months plus (ignoring the DD being ill bit) has just got better and better. I hope you're enjoying DS now!!

SP I think that's exactly it, the sheer random lunacy of it all, perhaps I relate a little too well?! Then again I could probably also calll several people poo poo heads most days... Grin

Aw, how lovely. Smile

My eighteen-month-old niece is amazing. So I agree with you.

But then I thought she was pretty fantastic at 1 month, 2 months, 3 months ....

My 17 month old is a terror. She screams the most piercing scream constantly and is moody, bad tempered and very very head strong. My DS was a dream at this age. I don't know what to do with her Xmas Sad

Terry I often find myself roaring these days!

Brian that sounds like a fab rhyme! I'm feeling rather proud of myself today for explaining to a friend that her son has been learning twinkle twinkle little star at nursery based purely on the "twinkly" hand gesture that my DD also does, she couldn't figure out what he was doing and though he was being an elephant!

A nice man in Sainsbos commented to me the other day it was nice to see someone else who was happy (was tickling and blowing raspberries on DD, much to her delight at the time) as he felt like the only one amongst all the miserable buggers in there :)

Allonsy DD's speech is way behind most of her "friends" but my dad has a theory (which I'm inclined to agree with) that it a bit of laziness, she's perfectly good at communicating that she wants in other ways and generally gets it, so why bother talking?

She has learnt "toast" and "goat" today, obviously two words you need to use together frequently!

Allonsy my 15 month old is not talking either. Well, she says 'na' which I think is supposed to be snack, but other than that, she just grunts and points! They'll get around to it ;) She is so much more fun than she was as a baby, even if she is a bit stroppy! I hope by the time she is 18 mo she will be even more fun.

DS is just turned 3 and I think that I can now say that 3 year olds are the best thing ever!

I am with you on not liking the baby stage though, the older he gets and the more we can together the better it is Xmas Grin

18 months is great! Ds3 is 21 months and I can see the shift, tantrums tantrums at the moment. However he's not very vocal so I think some of it is frustration.

We do lots of roaring here too - DS2 is 21 months.

He has been hard work though, into everything, climbing, emptying bottles of suncream all over the beds - you name it.
Things have just started to get a bit easier this last few weeks and he is turning into lovely company Xmas Smile

Mine DS is 20 months and never bores me! He lines up all his teddy bears and pretends to feed them his food, he will 'moo' at every cow on posters etc, kisses pictures of dpgs and cats on the pet food tins and shouts 'hen!' at every bird he sees! Such a lovely age and I'm lucky to have such a good-natured child. Constant cuddles, he even pretends to fall over so we give him a squeeze and kiss. He always has strangers stop and talk to him because he chats and laughs at everything

I love the toddler stage!
