To feel very smug about this Christmas bargain?!

(57 Posts)

I was looking around John Lewis the other day for gifts and say a SodaStream. I remembered my dp saying he had one as a kid and thought it would be a 'fun' gift as I've already got him grown up stuff.

Anyway, it was £149.99 and thought I would look about first before coming back.

Went to Currys and exactly the same one was.....£34.99!!

I'm think

I'm thinking it was a glitch!

Anyone else get some great bargains??

I read a post by someone yesterday who got an m&s hamper worth 350 for 80 due to a glitch and was very envy

are you sure it's the 'Source' and not the 'Dynamo' only they look similar but one is £150 and one £50

i think the first price must have been a glitch- who would spend £150 on a sodastream?

gordyslovesheep Thu 20-Dec-12 21:32:20

I bought some aftershave for ds in John Lewis for £24 instead of the £54 it is everywhere else.

I've been fully utilising DH's staff discount. They have a new range in, heavily discounted to encourage staff to try them and recommend to customers. Bought a few family members really gorgeous fleece jackets worth £60 for £13.67!

Yep the Source one gordy! Lovely black one. The guy in currys said he thinks it was a glitch too.

Coco people with too much money in JL! Never knowingly undersold my arse!

Friend's daughter bought some fabulous designer shoes reduced from £300+ to £29.50 and was very very happy - even more so when she went back onto the site and found the price had been corrected, reduced to £295!!

Sorry guys - it was in our local department store about 3 weeks ago - member of staff had stuck a special offer sticker on it at £17.50 - manager was not a happy bunny but had to sell it to me! dread to think of the bollocking the assistant got

I bought a brand new maclaren buggy (4 years ago) for £10 due to glitch on website, was supposed to be £110. They initially tried to refund me, but I said I didn't want a refund, and they did redeliver the buggy!

poncyettia there is case law on this - the manager DID NOT have to sell it to you even if labelled incorrectly. link

In my case with the website, they did have to sell it to me, as I'd bought it, ie my credit card was charged before they realised.
