to hate it when MNers dredge up other threads?

Ok dpi the mooncup incident is gonna haunt me for some time but I find that kind of amusing. But when I ask for advice on buying DP shoes and get told not to bother he's a douchebag, I just wish sometimes, just sometimes, that people wouldn't dredge up other stuff and just stick to the topic at hand!

Why not answer it on the thread then? Xmas Hmm Fred about a Fred is also bad etiquette.

Trouble is, people remember. It's pretty hard to advise someone on buying presents for their DP when you remember that their DP is a cunt. Drawback of sharing on mumsnet really.

I'm on the fence, I agree it is bad netiquette to drag things up in a thread where they have no relevance, your buying shoes example is a good one. However, it's difficult with posters who have said something that has stuck in your memory not to have that affect how you reply to them even if you don't directly mention their previous posts.

I guess with relationship especially, it can be tricky. One minute its leave the bastard then its kiss and make up and the MN mob are still after his blood!

He sounds like a cunt. He sounds like a cunt due to information you have volunteered. Maybe a forum isnt the place for you if you dont want people to comment on this?

Oh I can cope with being told he's a cunt on the thread about him being a cunt but not happy for it to be dredged up elsewhere. But I was speaking generally. Someone once said I read your other thread and u were an idiot then and your one now Angry

Perhaps you'd like to make use if the name change facility if you want certain threads to be disassociated with each other?

As others have said, others do remember. And actually, they care. That's why some people may find it hard to advise in something when they're uneasy about something else the poster had posted about (I haven't read any of your threads so don't really know)

My cunt of a DP isn't relevant, I just don't want slapping in the face with that particular wet fish!

In a very short space of time though, i have come to the conclusion you're an attention seeker.

I don't get the name change thing tho. Other than adding HoHoHo I've never done it. I've always viewed it as being 2 faced. Also don't get how u can build friendships (or whatever the correct term is) if u never actually get to know a person/name.

I think some people like to takes notes and cross reference.

I CBA really. MN is a distraction, not a full time job.

Foosa thankyou for that. U couldn't be further from the truth.
I am the least out going person u could meet. I shy away from most things and am too socially inept to be in a group of people.
I'm usually found on the side lines wishing ii could say the right things and failing miserably.

I think it annoys some posters if you're posting somewhere sensitive like relationship and they give their time and share what are sometimes painful and triggering experiences for your benefit.

And then you want to know what flavour shoes to buy him.

I haven't read anything but the mooncup thread.

Colour, not flavor. WTF.

cortana that makes sense I guess. I just feel like everyone else has given their time then reads that and thinks, oh she's an idiot, and then I'm left with tumbleweed!

Are you the same poster who wanted to go to some activity with your partner and son, but he didn't want you to go with them? He also hadnt introduced you to his son?
Then he didn't want you to hug him or something?

Why are you buying him shoes? Confused
