I love texts from dog! He's made a YouTube cartoon too, but it loses something.

I LOVE the round robin one ariadne, I am currently re-reading it to put me a Christmassy mood - it is still making me chortle grin My mum has some friends who send Christmas letters JUST like the ones in the book ha ha

Texts From Dog is done by a guy called whose Twitter name is October Jones - he's very funny and worth a follow :-)

BertieBotts Sat 08-Dec-12 17:37:33

I can't find it! Where can you buy it from?

kiwigirl42 Sat 08-Dec-12 17:33:51

Texts from Dog also has a website which my DS loves and checks EVERY day. I've cruelly told, him the the Texts from Dog book is unobtainable in the UK so I can surprise him with it in his Bday next week.
We also love bunny suicides and 100 uses for a dead cat. There is a website called The Oatmeal which has funny cartoons too. I have bought DS their book called 'how to know if your cat is trying to kill you' which looks hilarious

Having kept rescued rabbits for many years , I never got a copy of 'bunnie suicides' just in case they sneeked a peek when I wasnt looking and some daft ideas.

The Cat That Could Open the Fridge: A Curmudgeon's Guide to Christmas Round Robin Letters is very funny.

The Meaning of Liff has me in hysterics.

Thistledew Sat 08-Dec-12 09:02:09

Simon's Cat. Both the books and the YouTube clips are hilarious.

Thank you! You just sorted my "silly secret Santa" dilemma!

I love Bob Servant. It's been made into a TV series - excited!!!!

ConfusedPixie Sat 08-Dec-12 08:38:43

Not a book, but there is a list somewhere called skippys list, about a bloke who was in the military and 213 things he was told he was not allowed to do by his superiors after the fact. There are fan versions of out based on things like harry potter, star wars, etc. the original harry potter one is just as funny of the original. Even though I know nothing about the military the original is still mostly understandable and funny.

The Overlord List is similar.

I love bunny suicides/lies to tell small children and texts from dog. Texts started as a website and has a facebook, I'm signed up to their website feed :D

CogitOCrapNotMoreSprouts Sat 08-Dec-12 07:47:30

Not a cartoon book but 'Delete This At Your Peril' the e-mails of Bob Servant is definitely a snorter....

LadyIsabellasHollyWreath Sat 08-Dec-12 07:38:19

Great Lies to Tell Small Children is my personal favourite cartoon book (same guy as Bunny Suicides)

RubyGates Sat 08-Dec-12 07:38:17

Niggle The book of Bunny Suicides brought me back from the edge after I had a late miscarriage due to PROM.
I'm not sure I thought it was funny, but it helped me see the absurd. It's still in my bookcase, just in case.

LadyIsabellasHollyWreath Sat 08-Dec-12 07:37:11

Rereading Gideon Defoe's Pirates books to the DCs at bedtime (doing a little bit of ad hoc expurgating as we go) and we are all laughing a lot.

Nigglenaggle Sat 08-Dec-12 07:35:13

You must have already seen the book of bunny suicides?

balotelli Sat 08-Dec-12 07:18:25

I have obvioulsy been missing something as I have just discovered "Texts from My Dog".

Easily the funniest book ever! Had to stop reading it in Tesco for fear of continence problems and left with tears streaming down my face from laughing so much.

Much funnier if you actually have a dog.

Any one have more similar reccommendations of histerical books for xmas?
