This is shameless promoting of my own thread. And of a topic I think is great.

MNHQ let us have a History Club because amazing exciting posters were starting threads like Ways of Dying in 1665 or Roman MN or about finding Richard III in a Leicester carpark, and the threads were getting really long.

So, History Club is here:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/history_club

(And, erm, I have a thread about historical Christmas traditions which is probably deadly boring but I am arrogant and wanky enough to hope maybe some people have missed it and might like it. Or might humour me. Or something. It's www.mumsnet.com/Talk/history_club/1629576-Christmas-in-History-which-traditions-events-stick-out-for-you).

Nicely done? Wink

Beautifully done!!

YAonlyBU if you insist on depth and breadth of historical knowledge and context.

I love social history but have shag-all idea about what happened when due to continuously moving countries as a child.

If you don't mind potty questions and random disconnected additions, I would love to join in!

Go for it! Grin

I do not insist on depth or breadth or anything else!

(To be honest I just wanted to chat about Christmas.)
