AIBU?

To feel no remorse for butchering DH's hair?

DH went to the hairdressers after work yesterday. It is the place he always goes to and they always do a good job. It's not cheap either and costs around £40 for a mens cut. But when he got home he was banging on about how the guy hadn't taken enough off the back and it was still too long at the bottom. He had even stopped off at Tescos on his way home and had purchased some clippers. He wanted me to trim a bit off the bottom. I explained that I am not a hairdresser and I have never ever used clippers before. Still he was insistent claiming "how hard can it be?".

He literally went on and on for ages and I kept telling him I wasn't comfortable doing it as I really didn't know how to use them. But eventually I relented just to shut him up. I told him he had to set the clippers up with the right grade as I hadn't a clue what was what. Anyway, to cut to the chase I totally fucked up the bottom of his hair. It was uneven with chunks totally missing in places. It looked like it had been chewed by a boisterous puppy. I'm sorry, I can't help bursting in to laughter just thinking about it. DH seemed to take it quite good naturedly and said that he'd have to go to a barber close to his work today to get it rectified.

But he obviously didn't realise how bad it looked. He has had people in the office taking photos of the back of his head today. He says that if he'd realised how bad it was he probably wouldn't have left the house.

AIBU to find the whole thing hysterically funny? I did repeatedly warn him after all. Grin

DP once set about "trimming" his hair for a fancy family wedding.

He dragged the shaver over his head and then realised he'd taken the guard off Shock

He had to do his whole head. He looked like a football hooligan Hmm Grin

Blokes are funny creatures aren't they? Nbu. Far from it. Warning given should be heeded! Does he now look like Lewis on strictly? No hair at all apart from top?

Tee hee xxx

Grin I have alway had a fascination for clippers. Told my sister I knew how to work them and could help cut DNs hair. Didn´t put any guard on at all and sliced a nice bald patch in the side of his hair. DS and I just sat their laughing hysterically but I think it was laughing else she would cry on her part. I guess that was karma for when she cut me a wonly fringe out of jealousy when we were kids.

And by the way I didn´t do it on purpose, I just loved the idea of giving a clipper haircut Grin

Ummm, what is this talk of a "guard"? Heh, i don't think there was any such thing on the clippers when DH handed it to me. That would explain why I did so much damage!

Clippers are an acquired skill! I cut DH's hair but he has a relatively easy SB&S!

Okay well DH is home. It's not nearly as bad as I thought it was gonna be, although a tad on the short side. And it does kind of look like two different haircuts, one from the front and another from the back.

That'll learn him. Now just need to decide who needs some clippers for a christmas present....Grin
