Is at my house that I assume it is their dp they want?
My MIL rang earlier and asked this and I (apparently foolishly) thought she wanted her dp who is actually in work all day.
It turns out that she was refering to her SON my dp.
I'm not crazy am I? This is creepy isn't it? Even my son is creeped out by this.
I'd never refer to my son in those words.

Dh and dad own a business together and I have called and asked to speak to my dad when I meant dh.

Although I didn't use any words like that.

Thought maybe she'd either phoned wrong no. or just said wrong words when she first asked for her other half but when I queried who she wanted she said 'my darling' a term she only uses normally for her dp. She's been pulling a lot of weirdness lately(since my sons 18th bday). She keeps one upping my mum on fb by taking my mums comments on photos and going a step further. My mum posts something on my ds's fb such as he looks nice and then mil says he's gorgeous (which my son hates).
Could she be feeling a bit of a second wind of empty nest syndrome. She btw seems to think me cold as I look forward to seeing my dc's grow up and live their lives so maybe is trying to make up for me?
I just find this is the one that's really sent me into a 'this is creepy' way of thinking
