That's it really!

CaptainVonTrapp Wed 28-Nov-12 11:25:30

What for? To avoid a wet spot? No. It was the one time I didn't worry about getting pregnant.

RillaBlythe Wed 28-Nov-12 11:26:52

I personally didn't.

However being pregnant won't prevent infection so if sleeping with a new partner I would.

Never have and I wouldn't unless I was worried that DH was shagging about/had an STI...

NoTeaForMe Wed 28-Nov-12 11:30:08

If it was not a new partner and was your husband and had no reason to think there was any cheating from either partner.

Why would you? You can't get pregnant twice?

Softlysoftly Wed 28-Nov-12 11:32:06

Ok now I need to know why you are asking

RillaBlythe Wed 28-Nov-12 11:32:12

In that case, no.

NoTeaForMe Wed 28-Nov-12 11:34:30

Just wondered ... My husband had a health check as e has health insurance through work, they asked him what contraception he was using and he said none as I'm pregnant and the dr told him off, saying that doesn't matter, you should always use condoms due to STI's etc. surely but we've obviously had unprotected sex to get pregnant! We've also been together 10 years.

NoTeaForMe Wed 28-Nov-12 11:35:26

Just seemed so weird to us, but got me wondering of we were off for not using them!

InSPsFanjoNoOneHearsYouScream Wed 28-Nov-12 11:37:11

I have heard of woman who got pregnant and then slept with another man and ended up with twins to different men. One baby was older by a few week!

Not sure if its true or not. I might have a google and see

curiousuze Wed 28-Nov-12 11:37:32

Well, yes for protection from STIs, otherwise no need I'd have thought.

BerthaKitt Wed 28-Nov-12 11:38:23

The doctor sounds like he or she has not thought things through.

InSPsFanjoNoOneHearsYouScream Wed 28-Nov-12 11:39:16

this is one of them

MrsMiniversCharlady Wed 28-Nov-12 11:48:41

Well, I would have thought that if you didn't already have trust issues in your relationship then some would develop pretty quickly if you insisted on using condoms throughout pregnancy...grin

redexpat Wed 28-Nov-12 12:49:56

Yes always, (unless TTC) because it eliminates the wet patch.

HazelnutinCaramel Wed 28-Nov-12 12:54:16

The doctor is either a loon or a terrible cynic!

ISeeThreadPeople Wed 28-Nov-12 12:56:23

Yup always, not due to an sti risk or lack of trust though.

Splinters Wed 28-Nov-12 13:06:57

And what if this had been a few months earlier and your husband had said 'No, because we're trying to conceive'?

It's a hostile medical - they always think the worst.

FWIW I had thrush when pregnant, and condoms were essential.

I could believe twins with different fathers if the woman slept with 2 men in the same couple of days and released two eggs in that ovulation but surely it's not possible for there to be a few weeks gestation difference confused?

I'd say the docs weird tbh!
