If you are at the front of a long queue, keep your bloody ears/eyes open FFS!

Shopping today - crowds of people everywhere, huge queues. Total nightmare tbh.

I was absolutely amazed today at the number of times the cashiers in shops have to shout 'next please, next please, NEXT PLEASE, NEXT PLEEEEEEASE' whilst the person at the front of the queue picks their nails, stares into space, chats to friend....

Everyone else in the queue has heard the cashier despite being further back, silently cursing the stupid person for being so vacant, wanting to shout:
YOU HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR 20 MINS TO GET TO TILL. FOCUS! THEY ARE CALLING FOR YOU!!!!!

Then suddenly, penny drops, they rush forward stopping for a second to check what bargains may be on the shelves by the till, and then struggling to find their bank card/purse. YOU HAVE HAD TWENTY LOOOONG MINUTES TO LOOK FOR YOUR FRIGGING PURSE!

This is why I shouldn't go shopping in November/December.

(Btw, you get EXACTLY the same at traffic lights too.)

I do normally go for online shopping, but find that every now and again a real life shopping trip is required. Unfortunately there are people in real life. And they are very annoying!

I only shop online these days. I had to go into Debenhams yesterday to buy something and I just can't understand why people put themselves through it. Not even out of necessity, as if it is some sort of leisure activity. It is AWFUL.

I reserve my contempt for people who've been waiting for 20 minutes for a bus and then fumble about for ages once they're on the bus for their Oyster/change.

YANBU, can't abide bloody dawdlers. I used to work in a shop and my bugbear was people who would get to the front of the queue and then decide to go and do more shopping while you scan their stuff through leaving you standing like a lemon waiting for them with a queue of irate customers. Get all your fucking shopping before joining the queue and be ready to pay for it without pissing around, it shouldn't really come as a surprise that you are expected to pay for stuff.

blush I've done it myself a couple of times. Just totally end up in a knackered daydream of sorts and I forget where I am for a moment.. or i've been busy talking and not even realised I was the front of the queue. Its awful, I blush and feel like an idiot.

Just been shopping in a huge Mall. NEVER again. Huge crowds, massive lines at the tills. Blaring music everywhere. It was too loud for my teenage daughter too, so it's not just me. Awful experience.
