AIBU?

To think this woman on the tube was an idiot

Was on the tube going home from apportionment today and the train stopped at a station. Just as the doors were closing a woman with a buggy ran to get on and shoved her buggy into the closing doors.

The doors slammed half shut and finally opened. Out of shock I yelled how stupid she was.
I was just imagining if the train had taken off with the buggy half in the train :( just didn't seem worth it when trains come every 2 minutes.

YANBU. There are a lot of similarly stupid people on the tube.

Very true. Two minutes later a man got on the carriage, which had plenty of seats. He then opened the connecting doors to the next carriage and moved while the train started moving Hmm

Oh dear yes, YANBU. And unfortunately this is not isolated. I get on the tube quite frequently and I always see some jackass being dumb. Wrt to buggies, the majority of people with them are sensible, but with the idiots, you will find people either use them as battering rams to get through crowds or doing as you describe.

I feel sorry for people having to do the commute on a daily basis, it does generally seem to be worse on the tube than it does on overground trains (which is ridiculous when you consider how frequently tube trains arrive).

I saw a man stick his arm in the door of the carriage to stop it closing recently...........Hmm When relaying this story to a friend she was telling about she and her mum got off once and her cardigan got stuck in the door and they had to tug to get it out............Shock

I've seen a woman with a buggy push her baby into the road to check if there was traffic coming. I was flabbergasted.

YANBU because those doors are heavy and the jolt of the door closing on the pushchair could have hurt the child, although allegedly the train can't move when the doors are open. On the newer trains anything thicker than a credit card is, again allegedly, enough to halt the train although I am not sure I would want to put that to the test.

Plus it slows the service up for other people.

YANBU - she was a complete idiot.

Reminds me of .

(It has a happy ending but is a bit harrowing to watch).

A lot of people who don't use the tube regularly think the doors are like lift doors in that they spring open when they make contact - but they don't!!

Jurassic, my favorite part was when she flung the baby to the floor, left it and went after the buggy.

YANBU OP. Bloody fool, glad you told her, she may think twice next time. I mean what train is that important?

Oh god these stories scare me! I'm going to london soon for the first time and will be avoiding the tube at all costs!!

She was able to get the baby out and put him down, she was a distance away and her coat is a short white jacket, I saw it as she had grabbed hold of the buggy again. Obviously not great quality footage, but as she moves closer she's holding the buggy handle. I thought the woman in black was caught and the mother in white tripped on her. Hard to see though, bad quality footage. Glad all ok though.

You'll be fine MrsK, I've seen you around and you seem to have at least a modicum of common sense Wink. You'll be grand.

However, YANBU. This is annoying, and dangerous. Always irritates me too when I see people pushing prams out into the road when crossing, before actually looking themselves.
