Evidently we are entitled to a top up on our wages of Child Tax Credit. We will spend this on childcare. Yet we dont qualify for help with childcare....seeing as we pit down what we pay for childcare, why dont they just give us help towards that and no child tax credit?

Easy to understand, sensible and child tax credits do not seem to be compatible!

Because you don't have to work to be entitled to CTC, and if you're not working then why should you get help with childcare?
