to think that someone should have told me that Neapolitan Chocolates

are no more?

DH and I were discussing the all important topic of chocolates for Christmas. We have a tin of Roses but between 5 adults/proto adults these wont go far (especially as the size of the tin has reduced).

So we were discussing what to bulk them out with. Brightly I said 'Neapolitan Chocolates'. However a quick search suggests that they are no more.

AIBU to think that someone should have told me so that I could have stock-piled.

:O they really should have told us that. I used to really like them.

What????!!!
Is this a recent thing?

Bogeyface Sat 10-Nov-12 21:48:43

Urgh! They were gopping!

Far better to just buy another tin!

They've been defunct for years. I luffed them muchly. They remind me of my grandad.

They were made by Terry's. different colours were different flavours. Mocha were horrible.

I used to love those! Sad times.

If you haven't tried to buy any in the last 7 years, you can't like them that much!

Evil Kraft, killing off Neapolitans. As a rural child, I never even realised coffee came in two flavours - viz, 'plain' and 'au lait' - apart from in a Neapolitans box.

MaggotMummy Sat 10-Nov-12 21:57:08

Those bastards at Kraft did for them!

Anonymumous Sat 10-Nov-12 21:59:41

I'd forgotten about them! We used to have them every Christmas when I was a child. I seem to remember being rather partial to the orange ones... mmm...

sad Kraft would only bring them back now if they were 'co-branded' with some other foodstuff to make Neapolitan-Pork Scratchings or some such other hideous Frankensnack Dairy Milk Philadelphia.

I'm sure M&S do something similar to them. Or did I dream that?

BraaaaaainsButterfield Sat 10-Nov-12 22:07:57

I remember feeling like the Cafe au lait was just the most sophisticated thing there could be - it was coffee flavour and in French!

DH has suggested we get a tin of Quality Streets and mix them in but we both suspect that no matter how well mixed they will separate overnight.

Bogeyface Sat 10-Nov-12 23:31:13

No Quality Street! Totally ignoring the Nestle boycott, QS taste like shit!

NamingOfParts Sun 11-Nov-12 00:25:24

Thank the lord for small mercies, I thought I was the only one who thought that about Quality Street!

To be honest, Raspberry Ruffles are the only chocolate confectionery anyone needs at Christmas.
