My mum insists me and dbro slept 12 hours a night from 2 weeks. I don't believe her.

Most babies ebf or ff don't sleep 8 hours at that age.

dd didn't regularly sleep through until she was 3.5 (not up every night prob about 60% of the time) and ds started sleeping through at about 18 months (2 months ago).

Tell him that, it will cheer him right up. :)

Your baby's stomach is tiny and doesn't hold enough milk to get her through the night. It's perfectly normal for her to feed during the night and I'd be surprised, and possibly worried, if she didn't.

My pfb slept from 10-6 from 6 weeks, but Lord knows my following babies soon sharp disabused me of the notion this was "normal"
No2 son was 2 before he slept for longer than 2 hours, and the first time he went from Midnight to 6 I was hysterical when I woke up because I honestly thought he'd died it was so unusual!

she should be feeding two-hourly at this stage. lift her and feed, she won't wake up. four hours without a feed is too long for a tiny breast fed baby.

dd1 probably did quite often but she was formula fed. I think he misses that point. Also working longer hours with a longer commute so I guess he is more tired. It's not as if he is the getting up though.

PomBear my DS was a nightmare and when he was 12 weeks we went away , his routine was upturned and the little toad slept through the night. I woke up panicking because I thought he'd stopped breathing. He was blissfully snoozing.

My DD slept from a day old.She had to be woken at 10pm and slept right through to 6.30am. She was the sunniest tempered baby ever.

My DS slept from 10 to 6 at that age, but he fed solidly from 5 in the evening until 10.

It doesn't matter what is realistic, they are all different and yours sleeps 4 hours.

It's possible. My ebf DD did, at 5 weeks. But her method was to sort of store like a camel from about 4 pm until 11'ish when she went to bed so the downside was there was a lot of feeding during those times. But this was also a child who slept for long periods even in hospital after birth and the nurses used to try and get me to wake her which I really objected to and never did.

Maybe not right term but sometimes she will wake at 2 say but be on and off breast for maybe 2 hours. Does this early evening sometimes too.
I am fine with this. I just want her to get all the milk she needs.

if your 7 weeks old slept like that, it would be realistic. if not, then not.

i have had some 6 weekers sleep almost that long.

Your DH is living in cloud cuckoo land. My DS didn't sleep longer than 1.5 hours at a stretch until 12 months; DD not longer than 2 hrs until 14 months.

Hopefully your LO will do better than that (my two were particularly trying when it came to sleep & night feeds( but 7 weeks - FGS, she's barely out of the womb. She needs the milk!

She should feed when she is hungry. Love bunny I don't think it is recommended to breast feed on a schedule - feed on demand is what is recommended.

lovebunny I had my son 20 months ago and the advice was to feed on demand. Tyr babies demand. Not a schedule. That went for end and ff babies.

Ds1 (now 15) fed about every two to three hours more or less initially.

As he got to 8 weeks, it was around every 3 and a half to 4 hours. At night, as he started to get a better feel for night and day, it was generally about 11pmish, then would wake for a feed around 2.30am, then about 6 amish.

occasionally, he would have a spurt, and I would feed much more frequently. I just let him lead the way. He was gaining weight, was cheery, and was fine.

I don't agree with forcing a sleeping baby to feed 2 hourly if they are happy and gaining weight tbh. I've always fed when they wake up and seem hungry.
