I bought DH for his 40th - A brick at parkhead football stadium that now has his name on it, one of those football shares (for celtic) and a shareholders tie, a plot of land so he is now technically a Laird, a football book of celtics last 50 years or some crap, a copy of the eurovision song contest from the year of his birth (that was for me really) and some other bits and pieces (chocolate, socks, pen, diary etc) to make it up to 40 presents.

Incidently for my 30th he was away with work and forgot and stuck £20 in my bank account and told me to buy myself something nice so I won't be going all out for his 50th. sad

It was more because I couldn't think of one special thing to get him so I bought lots of little bits and then decided it would be a nice touch to get him 40 presents and told him how many there were and hid them around the house smile

OMG, 40 presents!!! I can't even remember what I bought mine or even what he bought me. (I did get a spa weekend for my 40th though - I can remember that as it was last year!)

Apart from the few exceptions above and a couple of DVDs and CDs it was mostly pound shop and asda shit. I'm not that nice .

I gave DH 30 presents too, one of which was a weekend break abroad. The rest were pretty small.

I think experiences/breaks are the way to go as you'll get to go too

Small p do the finger prints in silver, but also can do kisses for adults. Or if there's a drink he likes - whiskey, port etc, see if there's one from the year he was born available.

I got dh an ipad for his 40th which was an enormous hit.

Not something we'd ordinarily have got so he was delighted.

God no. Ive been with DH for 11yrs and never have an idea for birthday or xmas.

I use notonthehighstreet an awful lot. I also go to Country Living and Spirit of Christmas shows as they all hold very different types of presents....

He thinks Im marvellous at gift giving. So untrue its funny!

For dh 30th, I brought him a Ferrari racing session at Silverstone, then we went to Thorpe Park. He brought me tickets to see the Kaiser Chiefs and a weekend away in Newcastle!
