AIBU?

To expect my DH to say good morning and ask me how I slept, rather than...

"can you pass me my phone?" he then read the restaurant review. I understand. He really loves the reviews. It's a real ritual. But - surely greeting your dw comes first, no?

I dealt with not reading twitter during supper a couple of years ago. But I just can't find the energy for this new ruck. It REALLY f*s me off. AIBU?

I would make a sarcastic "morning civil, how are you? Did you sleep well?" type response before telling him to get his own fucking phone.

Or switch of the internet on his phone before he wakes up

Oh my god are you me?

Tbh though both me and dh check trip advisor first thing. We are number one in out area and it brings in a massive amount of business.

As an aside do people really wake up and say 'morning darling, did you sleep well?'.
I don't want to speak to anyone until I have had a coffee.

Ask how you slept?

Do people actually do this?

YABU.

YABU, dp gets nothing but a grunt from myself until I've had coffee.

Ok. Ignore "how did you sleep". Is unreasonable to want the person who is meant to love and care about me to say ANYTHING before saying "can you pass my phone" ?

Leave a review every night for him to read.

Oops!

I got up with DS at six this morning. First thing I said to DP is "it's quarter to nine get up, you lazy sod." And walked out the room but heard him say thank you Smile. I only said good morning when he came downstairs and offered me tea.

Yabu. Have you been married long? Its just waking up. Its not like you haven't seen him in a month. You saw him 8 (ish) hours ago and have been laid next to him all night.

We do normally say morning and did you sleep well, btw so I don't think yabu.

My DP asks me how I slept every morning and I get a kiss and cuddle too. YANBU OP, that would bug me too.

DH doesn't need to ask me how I slept, he judges on the grunt I give him when he asks if I would like a brew.

It has never occurred to me to say good morning to the person I have just woken up next to unless I have no idea who they are.

YABU and precious.

Me and dh always ask each other how the other slept unless we've had a conversation about it in the middle of the night!

Is that not normal? Blush

Yanbu if it's everyday op, it's just a nice thing to do. Or am I just old fashioned?

I'd be a bit Hmm to. It won't kill anyone to say good morning, the phone will still be there in the second after you say it. Me and my OH see each other and first thing we usually say is something like "i love you" or I ask how he slept or vice versa...

waitandsee · 03/11/2012 09:54

Hmm, I would be a bit annoyed, but my OH is not great in the mornings either, he is more of an owl, which is a bugger as I am a bit of a lark. Whilst we are on the subject of mornings, does anyone have a "film-like" Saturday morning - you know, DH leaves DW sleeping in bed whilst he goes and rustles up some croissants/french toast/eggs benedict and fresh coffee, all whilst keeping the DCs amused? I have been waiting nearly 10 years for my OH to surprise me with this....still hasn't happened....

We've been married for 37 years and my DH allways says 'morning, sleep ok?'then kisses me.If he ever needs to use the internet,he gets up and goes in another room. Our bedroom is for sleeping and shagging especially as the kids have all left home ( apparently ).

I'm afraid I do not see the big deal with this.

I think YABU.

He should keep his phone on his side of the bed.

YABU. I would think my husband had gone completely round the bend if he woke up with a 'Hello darling, how did you sleep?' because we don't live in a Doris Day film.

I don't think I have ever asked DH how he's slept and vice versa. Usually the first words out of my mouth are 'will you switch that fecking alarm off'!

I don't get the asking how you slept thing.

My lovely dh asks me all the time and i always grunt and want to say something sarcastic like "with my eyes shut".

I get told off for snoring and then groped! No good morning beautiful etc. Should I demand more? As others have said not really a biggie this...
