It's not OK to put your dog crap in my wheelie bin

The bin men have changed our collection time its now late afternoon. DD2 and I went to the post office and when we came back bin emptied. All good so far. DD2 asks are we going to take the bin in but because I couldn't be arsed to wash my hands yet again, I said no leave it. Then I forgot about it until next morning.

Next morning went to retrieve bin and throw a black sack in and there in the bottom was ...... a package of dog poo.

Why?

If I wanted dog poo in my bin, I'ld have my own bloody dog. I am now the custodian of poop for a week. Why should I be just because I didn't take my bin in quick enough.

I suspect it was the woman who deliberately brings her greyhounds to the small greenward in front of my house to let her dogs have a crap and piss up the cherry trees. She lives about 2 minutes walk away. I suppose the doggy brigade will say be thankful she bags her dogs poo. So why then be so inconsiderate as to dump it in my bin.

Yes I'm annoyed.

I've had the same thing happen to me too. We live on a small road leading to a park. It used to bug me, but what's the alternative - it's better than stepping in a pile of poo right outside my gate!

If the dog and owner were walking away from the park, and the dog decided to do a poo outside my house, I wouldn't honestly expect the owner to bag it up and walk back to the park to bin it, or to carry it home with them (yuk!).

It's a weelie bin, it stays outdoors, and considering the amount of poo filled nappies I've thrown in it, a bit of dog poo is nothing!

So, YANBU to be annoyed, but I think it beats the alternative!

I've had an issue with people letting their dogs crap on the front path in front if our street. We campaigned for a dog poo bin. We now HAVE a dog poo bin. And people still don't fecking use it.

So unless you are the dog poo leaver, YANBU about anything dog poo related unless it is being put in a poo bin or taken home with the dog owner.

Not quite sure what your problem is. i dont think a tiny bag of dog poo is going to take up much room in your bin, or cause your bin to get too heavy, or contaminate your bin. So what is wrong with you?

I honestly don't get this. People complain that dog pop is left on pavements and grass. Dog walkers are made to pick it up and put it in sealed bags. Non-doggy people then complain about the sealed bags being disposed of in a sanitary manner, I.e. In a nearby wheelie bin, or "shock horror" a public waste bin!!! What do these people use their bins for?

It's 'rubbish' going in a 'rubbish' bin. Why is that an issue? If its bagged then it isn't 'contaminating' your bin and unless it's an elephant sized poo it's hardly going to take up any space. Do you only throw away 'clean' rubbish?

Neither do I understand your ire at the dogs doing their business on the grass in front of the house - unless the dog owner didn't pick it up. The grass doesn't care, the cherry trees don't care, why do you care? That bit of grass is probably soaked in the piss and shite of foxes, hedgehogs, squirrels and birds - none of which is picked up (and oh my God fox poo is nasty), so how much harm does a bit of greyhound poo cause?

Why's it rude to use someone else's bin? It's not like she's traipsing down with 3 bin liners full of household rubbish, it's a small bag of shit. Just as I have often popped a small item of rubbish in a wheelie bin if there's no other bin available.

On a technical level, once it's in the bin, it belongs to the council not you - as they are contracted to carry it away and take care of it from that point onwards once you've put it out for them, so the offence is against the council and guess what, other residents have the same contract. Technically the bins belong to the council as well (except strangely for recycling bins).

So OP I am afraid YABU. It is grim but since idiots have taken to bagging their dog poo and hanging it by little nappy bags off the railings of my garden wall my sympathy is a bit limited

I'm not sure that its acceptable to put dog poo in someone else's Shelly bin, but it certainly is better than the shit on my garden path that I ran the pram through.

Its rude to use someone else's bin because these days the council have shrunk our bins and reduced collections to try to force us to recycle more. Our weekly bin is full by collection, if the large numbers of dog Walkers and school children who pass my house each day treated it as a public bin then I'd have nowhere to put nappies.

YABU - it's a bin! I've put things like crisp packets or used tissues in peoples' bins as well when I'm on a long residential street with no litter bins. I'd prefer people to use our bin instead of leaving empty beer cans on my garden wall which happens from time to time.

I have in the past used a random wheely bin for a bagged poo - not often, as I'd much rather use a municipal bin and will seek one out, but if it's an ultimate choice between your bin and my pocket, your bin is going to take the hit.
