To wash bed linen and towels once per week?

Hmm wondering if I am unhygienic or about average. We all have our own towels and separate hand towels (I change these 2-3 times per week), Also, we all wear pjs in bed and I leave the covers back with windows open for at least an hour per day.

What does everybody else do?

That's about where I am. Change bed linen more often in the summer if it's really hot.

Bed linen every other week here unless it´s warm.

Towels are used for a couple of days & then washed.

Sounds fine to me, I'd imagine it's about average.

sounds perfectly normal to me, be prepared for some posters who will tell you they only change their bedding a couple of times a year, these threads can get quite lively!!Smile

"Hmm wondering if I am unhygienic or about average."
Seriously? You are way, way ABOVE average. Why on earth would you be considering yourself to be unhygienic?

We're the same - sheets once a week without fail (changed by cleaner). Towels when they start to look a bit grubby, which tends to be after about a week.

If you're all happy and don't smell, crack on!

I do bedding weekly, towels get a couple of uses then washed. I sometimes was dh's duvet and pillowcase more often as he's very sweaty! We have separate duvets as we both like to roll up in them like caterpillars.

I change sheets once a fortnight or whenever we get round to it, although I would do it more if hot weather. We do always shower every night before getting into bed.

I wash bath towels about once a week or so and I wash hand towels about once a week or so too.

I work 12 hour days every day so just have to do the best I can with the time available - there is no way I could wash towels everyday!

I do always change all towels and sheets in the spare room between guests - I was HORRIFIED recently when a friend suggested it was ok not to wash sheets between guests - yuk!

Same here: bed linen weekly or more often ( eg if had nosebleed or DS posseted), towels as needed, usually every 5-7 days, tea towels and hand towels twice weekly or more.

At those who change towels after every use: why? Presumably you were clean when you got out of the shower, etc, so why does the towel need washing?

Hand towels and tea towels at least daily. Bath towels every one or two days. Bed linen when I get round to it (because that needs ironing).

Every couple of weeks or we would have no space to dry anything else. I'm assuming those of you who do the washing more frequently have driers?

Totally amazed how many people are washing towels as often as daily! I would not be able to do that unless I gave up work and got a tumble dryer!

I agree with the above poster that if you are only using towels to dry clean body / clean hands after washing them thoroughly then the towels are probably not getting that dirty? So do they really need washing after just one use?

Also guess it depends how many people are in your house and whether you are in all day or out at work / school

Bedding once a month Blush except for DH's pillowcase which is done weekly as he has oily skin (nice), towels once a week (we have lots and there are only 2 of us), tea towels the same (again, we have quite a few)
