AIBU?

...to get the leftovers from my shop-bought smoothie?

This is such a first world problem, I know...

OK, so I bought a smoothie this morning from a juice bar. They carefully measured out the juice, fruit, protein powder and yoghurt, then chucked shedloads of ice in it before putting it through the blender.

When it's done, the woman fills up the cup, but there's about 1/3 of the smoothie left over in the blender jug. I ask nicely, that if it's going to go to waste anyway, is there any chance I can have it in another cup (which they've done for me before). She says no, as they need it to calculate wastage, then promptly pours it down the sink without looking at it.

AIBU to be narked at this? Am I wanting something for nothing? Would it be unreasonable to complain to the company about this?

At the end of the day, this smoothie is a once a fortnight treat for me, and I feel somewhat ripped off.

But you got a full portion?

Yanbu. You should say "Less ice please" next time...say "I want THIS much ice and ALL of the smoothie please."

Wasteful bastards.

Chaos depends on what you consider a full portion when you take the ice into consideration.

But they're sold by size of cup? So if the cup is filled to capacity, you have your portion?

I agree though that a/ it's a waste, b/ it's bad cistomer service, and c/ too much ice.

I would have been agog if she had said to me that waste needs to be measured and then chucked it down the street.

Then I suppose the issue was too much ice OP...because Chaos is right, it is sold by cup size...you need as I mentioned to ask for less ice next time.

Yes, it's sold by cup size, but it's also described as having 25g protein, about a third of which I'm guessing is making its way down the sewer network right now.

Yes...so ask for less ice. I would. I would specify...please fill the cup only this high with ice.
