Not

Friday November 2nd.

Saturday November 3rd

Sunday November 4th

And most definitely not Wednesday October 31st.

So please don't plan your lovely little parties and kitchen sups and bloody bastarding noisy fireworks any other day except Bonfire Night.

Which, may I remind you, is NOVEMBER 5th. MONDAY NOVEMBER 5th

It always used to be the day when I was a child-it wasn't the most convenient date, or the one where you make the most money.

I am with you op, fireworks season and yes it is a season seems to last from about Sat just gone until the end of November. Give it a rest, and do not get me started on the asshats who set them off during the day.

Our council has always had their bonfire/fireworks on a saturday since i was a baby & probably before. Dont see the problem with ones like this. What i do have a problem with is individuals letting off fireworks when/where they please.

The free display on our pier is Saturday, so sorry, not sure they will reschedule. They also hold free displays every bank holiday throughout the year too!

It's annoying that it's on a Monday though, and the first Monday back at school too.

Our council ones will be at 7.45 on Monday night. Pretty late IMO. We'll probably go and see them providing it's not pouring down, but we'll also be at the rugby club on Saturday.

OP Yab a little U as it falls on the first Monday of next half term.

I should imagine most bonfires will be this weekend, a Monday just doesn't make a good night to celebrate, sorry.

Fucking 4 nights of explosions. Theres no need. Its a date. Like christmas or hallowfuckingeen. One date. Not movable for convenience. You want bloody scary noisy dangerous gunpowder explosions do it on the bloody day put aside for it.

Our village bonfire is on 10th November. Always the Saturday after the 5th. Wink I don't like Bonfire Night. Sad

AnyaKnowIt · 30/10/2012 19:57

Nope, dd has her op on the 5th so any fireworks are cancelled on monday.

Have them any other day, i'm not fussed which.

YANBU.

I want to take DS1 to see fireworks. He's with his Dad for the weekend, 250 miles away. All of our displays are on Saturday night. All of their displays are on Monday. So, because I don't want to do my own fireworks (costly, dangerous, adding to all of the problems) he misses out twice.

Oh, and because we are taking him to his Dad's and the dogs are being dogsat, they will be climbing the WALLS without us because OldDog is petrified of fireworks. Which are on Saturday. ARGH.

And its definitely not tonight like some eejits round here seem to think.

Don't mind the displays, but it's the random ones that go off everywhere from the moment they're in the shops.
Me and my dog are fine but my sister's dog is utterly petrified of them, and she's such a gentle little thing.
It's good to know when they're going to go off.

Well our party is on Saturday . We are going to eat, drink & be merry and set off some explosives so the kids can enjoy themselves and not be up early for school in the morning.

Most people I know round here are planning the same.
