I was just thinking the same thing Still. I have just read two heartbreaking threads. Worra everyone is being kind and lovely on those threads but it puts all the other insignificant crap in perspective.

I think the most wonderful thing about mumsnet that if a poster really needs help and support then they get it in a fantastic cuddle wave both here and in private messages.

Sure we all have an opinion on some posts that are lighthearted etc but when it's serious you can get fantastic help.

I'll second that. I have been avoiding MN lately because I can't deal with it when actually I am having the worst time I have ever had in my entire, entire life at the moment. However it's made me turn to my RL friends which I suppose is healthy.

YABU actually, and I am extremely sorry for all of those people that have started the threads which OP is on about, but it is a different section of the board, and there is no nastiness, bitching, or vipering on those threads.

Doesn't stop her wishing it. And I think her wish goes beyond that actually. When you are in a terrible place, or hear about what terrible things people are going through, it does make you wonder how people can get so worked up about parking places, wedding invitations and how people pronounce things :)

Sometimes as you say ariel you won't find the answer on the internet boards and you do actually have to reach out to people in real life, which you obviously have and thats a good thing. Chat is what it is and people sort of let their hair down rather than having to stick to topic.
