Grr, how can I stop this?

The house is on the market and we are desperate to sell - absolutely desperate, and were contemplating selling it to one of those companies that pay a certain percentage of the house value to you.

After Googling, I got one company who emerged to be an "online estate agent" who reckon they can sell our house in thirty days. Hmm I politely said that's not what we are looking for, thank you, but she keeps ringing back!

They also send me texts and emails.

How can I get them to LEAVE ME ALONE!?

Change your phone number and be more careful who you give it to next time.

Make a throwaway email address for things like this so you don't get bogged down with spam.

Cite the Protection from Harassment Act 1997 at them? I did this recently with a company of bailiffs who kept calling my number looking for someone I'd never heard of, they left me alone after that.

Block the number/send to spam. Failing that, just be very very rude next time they ring :o

Calmly and CLEARLY state "I have repeatedly informed you that I do not require your services, any further contact from yourselves will be deemed harassment and I will take further action. Good day." Then hang up, the idea of legal action will put the wind up them and should hopefully stop them.

Tell them its harassment, as you have told them you are not interested, ask them to take you off their records, and tell them if they phone again you'll report them to the police.

Worra - it's my mobile number that everybody has, the hassle of changing it would be more than the hassle of having them keep ringing me Grin

Don't suppose anybody knows anything about companies that will buy your house from you? #hopeful
