YANBU, but this wont end well - people get VERY defensive about facebook.

It does sometimes seem like facebook is one of those things that you aren't able to have a negative view of without BU!!

I deactivated mine a couple of weeks ago and it's the best thing I've done in a long time.

I was a bit [hhmm] when I worked at a court and saw the amount of fb printouts being submitted into evidence!

I find it a bit tedious tbh.

Well of course YABU! It's not really up to you whether people are on it or not, or indeed whether they post about it or not.

I know you're loling at people telling you to hide the threads but...well...hide the threads! [hsmile]

YABU I don't use it in that way but FB etc, whether we like it or not, is a method of social communication which is rapidly becoming as important as actual RL interaction.

Sad but true therefore FB interactions have their place on AIBU.

I don't give a fuck about fb either way. I'm on it, but have never had any bother or upset over it in any form.

However, if someone does, I think they can post about it here if they like. I will ignore it, because I don't care about fb disputes whatsoever, but it's their call.

The op hasn't said people can't post about facebook has she? She asked if she was being unreasonable to find threads about it shite

YANBU I use FB but use it to keep in touch with extended family, have some banter/ lightheartedness with work colleagues etc. No dramas, no hassle...I clearly have like minded friends and family!

I find boring threads utterly shite. Hth

Report
qo · 25/10/2012 11:03

and it is true that some people wouldn't ever think about just logging off and walking away from it - even though they're getting grief/upset/shit through it!

It ISN'T compulsory

Report
waltermittymissus · 25/10/2012 11:05

Well, quite qo but I'm assuming the purpose of this thread was to have a good ol' bitch about FB no? And subsequently the people who post about it?

Report
MaureenCognito · 25/10/2012 11:06

eg

HERES something nasty on facebook WELL IF YOU hadn't shared i would be none the wiser tbh and you woudln't be publicising some lunatics crap.

people seem to virtually get divorced on facebook/
OR just gloat

I know of one mother who puts ''well done to my child who got a distinction at school today"

YABU I love Facebook, I especially love watching arguments on Facebook. But that's only because I live off the misery of others care Hmm

Report
qo · 25/10/2012 11:09

Why is having a negative view on something automatically seen as "having a good bitch"?

I'm not on facebook, but have no problem with those who are and certainly don't feel like bitching about them.

If someone was getting over-involved or upset about something on mumsnet - people would rightly say, log off - walk away if it's upsetting you that much.

You do get jumped on a bit for suggesting the same thing about facebook, people get so defensive!

Do you have a Facebook Maureen? Maybe you should deactivate! [hsmile]

Is this thread about Facebook being shite then or about threads about Facebook being shite?
