when said in a cutsey voice by a grown adult.

For example narna instead of Banana..

Or ickle instead of little

<disclaimer it's just a bit of fun>

munkiboy1971 Mon 22-Oct-12 20:21:07

SlightlySuperiorPeasant Mon 22-Oct-12 20:22:46

YANBU but I said 'nana' to DS in Sainsbury's today blush He is 2 but says 'banana' so I have no real excuse .

HeinousHecate Mon 22-Oct-12 20:23:00

Yes.

And what's with the odd renaming of famous people? an initial and a bizarre shortening of their last name.

Stop it at once, whoever is responsible for this. It's stupid.

Horsey
Donnies
Dumdums
Moocows.

mumsfretter Mon 22-Oct-12 20:24:06

MrsKeithRichards Mon 22-Oct-12 20:24:07

Some of my sons mispronounced words have became common use though!

Next side instead of beside.

Eat-a-bix and Ibena

But I don't use them to normal people, just my people!

INeedThatForkOff Mon 22-Oct-12 20:24:11

Bockie. Oh dear.

EllenParsons Mon 22-Oct-12 20:24:24

Yes I hate it. My mum says "strawbs" amongst other things hmm

INeedThatForkOff Mon 22-Oct-12 20:24:33

That is bottle, btw!

TidyGOLDDancer Mon 22-Oct-12 20:25:55

Oh no, bockle is awful.

<gets the rage>

HastaLanugo Mon 22-Oct-12 20:27:01

I hate narna for two reasons. My 2yo daughter used to say banana and it changed thanks to nursery. But also, because there is nothing even close to an r in banana the way I say it (Scottish)!

crackcrackcrak Mon 22-Oct-12 20:27:07

Wtf is a bokkle?

The correct lengthening of the word cow is 'moohorn' he he

The word I get most irate about is 'mamma' on hippy parenting threads. I want to kill people over it.

mumsfretter Mon 22-Oct-12 20:27:17

chaos grin grin

or the over lengthening as a superlative

Absofuckinglutely with bells on....

SlightlySuperiorPeasant Mon 22-Oct-12 20:29:43

No 'soz' from me. I do call him sweetheart though.

TidyGOLDDancer Mon 22-Oct-12 20:29:46

A bockle is a bottle.

<shudder>

benjalamummy Mon 22-Oct-12 20:29:46

I know someone who does that, and baby talk sentence structure and adds a lisp, too, bizarrely:

"Oooh Mummy thing a ickle thong " AAARRRGHHHHHHH smile

JamesBexleySpeed Mon 22-Oct-12 20:30:06

We say 'chup' and 'shrooms' Is that annoying?

dearprudence Mon 22-Oct-12 20:32:54
