He's on BBC1 now, prodding, poking and antagonising the wildlife. No wonder they are deadly they want him to leave them alone. hmm

I am sat here willing that Porcupine to charge him.

Sparklingbrook Mon 22-Oct-12 15:32:00

I have had to switch him off, he was annoying me.

helenthemadex Mon 22-Oct-12 15:34:48

I didn't notice the wildlife was to busy admiring Steve

Sparklingbrook Mon 22-Oct-12 15:35:34

Oooh no. he doesn't do anything for me. grin

I could never watch Steve Irwin for the same reason...the way he used to just leap on top of animals and wrestle them to the ground was unnecessary and quite frankly, all a load of bravado shite for the cameras.

I suppose he got his comeuppance when that stingray got him.

NettoSpookerstar Mon 22-Oct-12 15:46:04

I don't watch for the wildlife.

My mother- who was nearly 90 at the time- said "he deserved it- serve him right" when Steve Irwin died. I was shocked- but I did see her point. Odd thing to hear a sweet little old lady say, though!

Sparklingbrook Mon 22-Oct-12 17:41:32

Yes I hated watching Steve Irwin too Campari. it was like 'leave the bloody crocodile alone'. I hope he wasn't goading the Stingray. sad

Oooo he can delve into my undergrowth any day - no complaints here.

On reading back i'd just like to confirm, no wildlife in my undergrowth.

Sparklingbrook Mon 22-Oct-12 21:24:46

Well if there was he would want to poke it with a stick til it came out Ivana. Then be all cross when it bit him. grin

Yes, I hate to see any animal tormented even if it is by someone who's just interested in them and trying to make some programme. The animal doesn't know that and is just trying to protect itself sad

My cornsnake strikes at me when I open the door to clean his viv out even though he's perfectly tame and we've known each other for ages. Animals like their personal space too smile

I had little sympathy for Steve Irwin either and was disappointed to see that his children are being encouraged to continue the wildlife tormenting too (his son has apparently just wrestled a crocodile the other week) hmm

Sparkling - wrong end for teeth... maybe that's where I've been going wrong all these years.

Steve Backshall was worriyng a Tarantula yesterday. I was willing it to shower him with that hair stuff thing they do.

We need to stop the poking and prodding of the wildlife for entertainment purposes IMO.

Campari Tue 23-Oct-12 12:22:20

Thank heavens for people like David Attenborough who show real respect for animals and their habitats...he's managed to make all those brilliant documentaries without once jumping on an alligator's neck.

Sparklingbrook Tue 23-Oct-12 12:25:28

Exactly Campari. The Deadly 60 are only deadly because they hare Steve Backshall.

Sparklingbrook Tue 23-Oct-12 12:25:53

*hate not hare. Although hares probably hate him too.

Sparklingbrook Tue 23-Oct-12 15:12:06

Oh FGS he's at it again today. angry

WhoWhatWhereWhen Tue 23-Oct-12 15:16:43

Yes, the animals should just tear his shirt off, please

Sparklingbrook Tue 23-Oct-12 18:44:15

And then punch him Who. wink

Campari Wed 24-Oct-12 15:40:49

Sparklingbrook Wed 24-Oct-12 15:42:37
