I haven't even read the article, was browsing and saw the headline and a photo of this poor but clearly very brave lady.

But aibu to think that the headline is too graphic or am I being a wimp that doesn't want to face the awful things that go on in the world?

Every time we click those links the Mail makes money from us. I wonder how much your thread will earn them? I doubt they care what people's reasons are for clicking the link. The more clicks they get, the more money they make.

people should know and be outraged that these things happen.

A woman who is suffering reads such accounts and knows that they are not alone. And knows what can happen. This may prompt her to ask for help.

raising awareness may help to change attitudes.

naming and shaming the abuser may help other women know to avoid him.
