To wonder why Steve Tyler is on Jonathan Ross

When he was famous for his 'relationship' with a 14 year old girl who he got pregnant and convinced to have an abortion?

Erm, wait, what?!

AIBU to think this is a bit dodgy? Steve Tyler is slime in human form. And its good to know the BBC are taking the investigation seriously after Jimmy Savile...

pinkstinks Sat 20-Oct-12 23:33:35

Oh. I didn't know this sad

PervyMuskrat Sat 20-Oct-12 23:34:33

Have I missed something ? This is Steve Tyler from Aerosmith right ? Not being snippy, just watching something else and wasn't aware of any rumours around him.

Saltire Sat 20-Oct-12 23:39:43

Was there 2 girls then? I am sure DH read a book about Aerosmith and that it said Tyler ahd got a 16 year old pregnant and she'd had an abortion

solidgoldbrass Sat 20-Oct-12 23:42:26

I'm an Aerosmith fan and don't recall being aware of that fact either. Mind you, how old was he at the time it happened? Because there would be a bit of a difference WRT if he was, say, 18/19 or he was 30 or older.

MrsjREwing Sat 20-Oct-12 23:42:34

Not sure why Walliams got away with Mauling Edd last week on there.

Inadeeptrance Sat 20-Oct-12 23:48:40

I read that she was 14, and he got her parents to sign her over to him, and that he was 27.

Bradley Cooper commented that 'Mike Tyson was a great guy'. That'll be the convicted rapist Mike Tyson. Aye, fab line up tonight.

Saltire Sat 20-Oct-12 23:52:17

this article here is by the girl in question she states that she was 16.

He was in his 20s I think.

OldMumsy Sun 21-Oct-12 00:05:40

Those 2 were utter freaks, I had to change channels. I never watch Woss and now I remember why.

PervyMuskrat Sun 21-Oct-12 00:09:52

Saltire, sad story, but the language was too pro-life for me to fully empathise sad in that article

oldmumsy, watching it now on + 1 but what bit in particular made you think they were freaks ? Again, no snippiness intended, just used to watching aged rock stars!

PuffPants Sun 21-Oct-12 00:16:24

Banana, I said the exact same thing to DH after hearing the Tyson is a great guy line.

Depressing isn't it?

squeakytoy Sun 21-Oct-12 00:17:48

YABU, and havent even got your facts correct.. I have been an Aerosmith fan for years, and that certainly isnt something that he is famous for either.

Inadeeptrance Sun 21-Oct-12 00:41:20

I stand corrected, she says she was 16. He just pressured her to have an abortion at 5 months pregnant and snorted coke off the bedside table while she had it done.

Obviously a stand up guy, sorry for the confusion.

BerryLellow Sun 21-Oct-12 00:53:12

Jonathan Ross is on ITV now, not BBC

70isaLimitNotaTarget Sun 21-Oct-12 01:00:08

Eurgh even before I read this, ST was my Last Man On Earth Choice.

He makes my skin crawl.
I can't like Joam Rivers because I look at her and see his image (I'm sure they were seperated at birth)

Inadeeptrance Sun 21-Oct-12 01:21:11

Oh dear, yes it is on ITV now isn't it? blush

I've had wine, that's all I'm sayin...

IAmNoAngel Sun 21-Oct-12 01:21:15

Hopefully it'll be on itvplayer later. I love Steven Tyler and Aerosmith. (By the way, op, they are famous for being a hugely successful rock band over several decades) YABU.

Inadeeptrance Sun 21-Oct-12 01:21:54

I stand by the slime in human form thing though. Bleugh, vile man.

solidgoldbrass Sun 21-Oct-12 01:27:03

Tyler doesn't come out of the story terribly well, but it's pushing the limits a bit to imply that he's a paedophile and a rapist when it's clear from Julia Holcomb's own story that she was 16, consented to sex and had a longterm relationship with him.

Saltire Sun 21-Oct-12 15:16:07

I agree to the poster who said it was too pro life, the article i linked to, I was a bit hmm reading it, but I came across it as I was googling, due to OP saying the girl was 14, I was sure I has read somewhere that she was 16.
he is slmiy looking though

solidgoldbrass Sun 21-Oct-12 15:36:44

Inadeeptrance: do you think he's slime because he behaved selfishly in pressurising his partner to terminate her pregnancy? Or are you still trying to label him a child abuser?

Nancy66 Sun 21-Oct-12 15:44:44

Not quite in the same league as Savile is it? Unless Aerosmith also visited hopsitals with the sole intention of touching up sick kids

Glittertwins Sun 21-Oct-12 15:44:56

This is an old story that is also in the Aerosmith bio. He had a younger girlfriend whose parents were happy with their underage daughter living with a rather unstable addict musician and she wasn't innocent on the drugs either. I have loved Aerosmith for years and think that all were culpable but he's not an abuser.

TidyGOLDDancer Sun 21-Oct-12 17:08:12

Gosh he was a messed up man, but he wasn't a paedophile or a rapist and he is certainly not famous for the story to which you are referring.

Talk about picking out the 'facts' you want for the sake of a thread!

You can fully condemn him for what he did, but at least get it right and don't exaggerate.
