Feel a bit odd asking about this but better on here than in rl!!
I have 3 dc but was also a childrens nanny for years before kids. So when it comes to bottom wiping I have wiped more than my fair share.
So my youngest dc now 4 seems to have a really smelly bottom, much more so than my other dc. Its almost a sourness. Sorry tmi but just want to be clear its not typical of any common problem that I have come across. Its not fishy and its not thrushy, her skin is healthy although sometimes around her anus gets red. I feel its her actual faeces that are quite acidic and sour but she is healthy, never sicky and this has been something i have noticed since she has been out of nappies (and therefore on the toilet roll not baby wipes). Same diet as the rest of the family and yet the rest are fine.
Any one else got a sour bum baby?? Grin

Lactose intolerant? Some other dairy issue?

My DS poos are certainly sour, acidic if he has any cows milk..... and his bum skin breaks out in a rash/sore red skin... it smells fermented almost.

ha ha silvercharm i didnt even know which name i have currently!! But yes indeed the problem is up the rear and its shit!!

Scotch i must see if there is any link between her consuming dairy and how she smells. I think it must be the poo but
it leaves her bottom really smelly. She can really stink. Poor soul. She was breastfed for so long she has never really been a milk drinker other than breastmilk so maybe it wouldnt be obvious.

My son gets acidic smelling nappies when he eats something he is intolerant to.
Does she have or has she ever had tummy troubles of any kind?
Although confusingly my son never has tummy troubles. Acidic smelling poo is the only sign he has.

It sounds like it might be an intolerance - perhaps wheat/gluten?
