I welled up a bit when it said he was going to Paris to follow his dream of becoming patissier ( or however you spell it ). That was lush!

Are you hormonal or do you just really love baked goods?

Me too. And Brendan teaching baking in care homes is a fab idea. Bless him when he couldn't speak, that's when my tears started...

Me too, but I'm pregnant!

John was just so lovely I'm pleased he won, even though I think Brendan probably deserved it more.

I think I may have croaked "they're all such nice people" before gulping down a sob at the bit when we were told about Brendan and the care homes.

John just wanted to make his Mum proud. Lovely child.

James didn't have the thirst for it. He didn't practise at home. It was his to lose I reckon and he lost it.

I am a horrid grouchy cow but I shed some silent tears (after quickly closing the living room curtains). Really pleased for John

i think both brendan and james were robbed.

he just kind of lucked out at the end, didn't he? with James' dropped cake, and Brendan mucking up his fancies.

hormonal vs liking cake? is there a difference?

If it was just judged on the final cake, James's effort was pretty shoddy, the icing was messy for a start, and can't believe he tried to wing making Turkish delight. Brendan's cake was impressive, but John's was just spectacular. Based on that it wasn't completely unreasonable result.

Tears here too and no pregnancy hormones to blame it on Grin

It was great. I was choked at Brendan's struggle to contain himself. That, and his reunion cake, told its own story. Was very happy for John though

I was in tears too over John just wanting to please his mum.

Just after it finished ds came down out of his bedroom because he was "too hot" to sleep. I switched off his radiator and got him tucked up again, and feeling all emotional I told him how much I love him, how he could never disappoint me etc etc. At which point he perked up and started flicking me "even if I do that mummy?" "is this annoying mummy?". Rather ruined the moment.
