Feeling like a crappy mummy

Will keep it brief, just need to get it "out" as DH is working and no one to discuss it with.

Putting the DCs to bed this evening (DS 2 & DD 4 months) and poor DS was sick after his nighttime milk (mmmmm, pleasant!) so had to pretty much dump DD in her cot whilst I cleaned DS up and calmed him down. DD was a bit grumpy this evening anyway and got majorly upset at being put in her cot in such a manner.

Anyway, finally got DS cleaned, changed and calm and into bed, and DD had cried herself to sleep. I feel so shit about this. I know it was just one of those unfortunate things, and is the way it goes when you're on your own with kiddies, but I try so hard not to let either of them cry it out or cry alone. I always do my best to pacify (was much easier with just PFB, but I do try).

I thought I was more relaxed this time around, but it seems not.

Sorry, bit of a pointless post but feeling guilty and need someone to tell me to get a grip, no harm done and she'll have forgiven me by her next feed! C'mon you lot, don't indulge my pathetic-ness

You can't be in two places at once. You just can't

You're DD fell asleep - she's fine.

Don't be so hard on yourself

In the nicest possible way...get a grip Grin

Your 4 month old will not remember this

And actually it was quite lucky that she did nod off

Deep breath - you're their mum and they love you Smile
Have a Brew or a Wine and rest until the next summons Wink x

Oooh you're all quick! Thank you. I know I'm being daft. Feeling better now though. Poured myself a glass of wine and am watching the Bakers getting messy on Great British Bake Off.

OP: I'm not a clone or a miracle worker
Everyone on MN: Been there, even shitter than you Grin

I can barely deal with one, never mind two.

Don't worry about it, you could look on it as DD felt bad for you and DS so took herself off to sleep Smile
