AIBU?

To think "because I just like it more" is a good enough reason!

Whenever we buy anything new, car, phone etc dbil always criticises our choice. He prefers to go completely on spec whereas with us look, feel and less tangible qualities come into it. I respect both positions but get fed up with the attempts to persuade us whilst we stay resolutely silent on their personal taste. Aibu to sometimes let style have a say as well as substance?

He's jealous. I get that too from my sister. So frustrating.

Bit self-important that BiL of yours isn't he. Tell him to stick his specifications where the sun don't shine Grin

My response of choice in these situations is - because I choose/chose to.

That's it, a lot of people don't like it, but they are also the people who want/expect me to choose their preference.

I listen politely and choose whether I can be bothered to say what I think. Occasionally I have a mini rant about it later. When I have got over it I count my blessings over which brother I'm married to Smile
