I had my dn today, sil has just picked her up and I told her what we had for tea. Her response was "oh she likes crap teas like that, not like our proper food"

I served (all homemade) cornflake chicken goujons, potato wedges, baby sweet corn, green beans and broccoli. Fruit and yoghurt for pudding.

I thought it was quite healthy.

Cheeky mare sounds lovely.

dubbada Thu 11-Oct-12 17:54:04

perfectly fine tea sil is obviously feeling insecure and crap

Spatsky Thu 11-Oct-12 17:54:34

I meant tea sounds lovely

Choufleur Thu 11-Oct-12 17:54:35

sounds fine if I knew what cornflake chicken was

BehindLockNumberNine Thu 11-Oct-12 17:54:37

I think your SIL is off her rocker and a tad ungrateful! Sounds like a perfectly good and healthy tea to me!

Marzipanface Thu 11-Oct-12 17:54:37

You didn't say Chicken Nuggets instead of homemade goujons did you?

Perfectly reasonable tea btw and unpleasant comment from Sil.

AmIthatbad Thu 11-Oct-12 17:54:39

It sounds nice.

Your SIL on the other hand, doesn't

pictish Thu 11-Oct-12 17:54:42

It's a great tea! Your sil is a buffoon. Does she often put you down for no good reason?

MadgeHarvey Thu 11-Oct-12 17:54:47

So next time give him turkey twizzlers, smash and a whole bottle of cheap ketchup. Jelly for pudding with added e-numbers. She sounds like a silly cow who wasn't even listening to a word you said!

charlottehere Thu 11-Oct-12 17:54:48

How rude.

SheppySheepdog Thu 11-Oct-12 17:55:08

Give her a Happy Meal next time! grin

HappyJustToBe Thu 11-Oct-12 17:55:13

I don't think that's a crap tea and "crap" teas have their place anyway maybe it was the absence of a jus?

apostropheuse Thu 11-Oct-12 17:55:29

YANBU It sounds healthy to me - and delicious too!

I've no idea why she would say such a thing.

GrimmaTheNome Thu 11-Oct-12 17:55:31

YANBU, sounds lovely. I can't see what on earth is 'crap' about that except if you'rereally picky the cornflakes.

WTF does your sil usually serve her DD? confused

Ummofumbridge Thu 11-Oct-12 17:55:57

Sounds lovely. Is your SIL always that rude?

pictish Thu 11-Oct-12 17:56:02

Btw - I happen to think your sil is extremely rude.

If I looked after someone else's child and and they snided at the food I offered, I'd be furious!

NettoSpookerstar Thu 11-Oct-12 17:56:37

Sounds fine, your SIL does not.
I'd tell her to bog off and then feed her pfb pot noodle

givemeaclue Thu 11-Oct-12 17:56:49

Sounds lovely. Ignore it.

Enfyshedd Thu 11-Oct-12 17:56:54

Far healthier than at least 99% of the meals I've eaten in my lifetime [blush)

Am trying to make more of an effort these days...

FatherHankTree Thu 11-Oct-12 17:57:00

If that's a crap tea, what's her idea of proper food? YANBU and your SIL's an ungrateful, rude cow.

Tuttutitlookslikerain Thu 11-Oct-12 17:57:10

No it's not a crap tea.

We're having a crap tea, fish fingers, chips and peas. All our of the freezer, just shoved in the oven/pan. Sometimes it doesn't hurt to have a crap tea!

twofalls Thu 11-Oct-12 17:58:08

grin at madge

Cornflake chicken - coat chicken strips in natural yoghurt or mayonnaise, roll in crushed cornflakes. Cook in hot oven for 20 mins!

She can be a bit odd at times and is food obsessed (which is why I didn't get the turkey twizlers out).

CarpeJugulum Thu 11-Oct-12 17:58:09

Cornflake chicken?! Share please???? thanks

MadameBoolala Thu 11-Oct-12 17:58:29

Maybe next time you could consult with her on a menu plan for her DD beforehand.

How incredibly rude.
