www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/pakistan/9596487/Pakistan-Taliban-claim-responsibility-for-shooting-of-14-year-old-girl.html

I wish them an eternity in Hell, so sad about Malala Yousafzai who was trying to help her fellow women in that backward place.

MeFour Tue 09-Oct-12 22:01:28

I just hope they get her (and family) out of there. It sounds like she may need specialist treatment so I hope that's their out.
Also worry about the students who denied knowing her

What a truly wonderful girl she Is.

What ignorant monsters. My God.

Startailoforangeandgold Wed 10-Oct-12 00:30:20

So so wrong!sadangry

I hope all the politically correct apologists for "religious freedom" look at their own daughters tonight and think properly about what true freedom means.

Wishing Malala Yousafzai a speedy recovery and hoping that the truly evil people who did this to you are found and punished.

WorraLiberty Wed 10-Oct-12 00:35:58

I saw this tonight on the news and thought what a wonderful, brave, intelligent girl. In an odd way, she reminds me exactly of my DS2 as he is so vocal in his opinions...representing his school as Head boy, debate club leader, school councillor etc and a true believer in equality and education for all.

The difference is he's completely free to vocalise how he and the other students feel about things - and actively encouraged to do so.

Unlike that poor girl who nearly died for the freedom my DS and his peers take for granted sad

YANBU. Poor girl, she is so brave. I can only hope that she will make a full recovery, the world needs more young women like her.

Nancy66 Wed 10-Oct-12 00:52:07

God, what an awful story - but what a remarkable girl.

Can't imagine the courage it must take to speak out in a country where doing so could cost you your life

flyoverthegoldenhill Wed 10-Oct-12 10:04:52

bump

GoldShip Wed 10-Oct-12 10:52:30

Can't believe they feel so intimidated by a little girl they feel they have to kill her.

The ignorant cowardly swines.

GoldShip Wed 10-Oct-12 10:52:56

I knew nothing about her before this, but my god I admire her

Flossie69 Wed 10-Oct-12 12:12:17

YADNBU

She is truly inspirational!!

I think that more people would be posting here if the title of the thread was clearer, or mentioned her name??

LtEveDallas Wed 10-Oct-12 12:22:10

Wow, what an amazing young lady. Her family should be so very proud of her. I hope she gets the treatment she needs and makes a full recovery.

My thoughts are also with the other two young ladies injured in this cowardly attack.

Bastard scum that did this can rot in Hell.

flyoverthegoldenhill Wed 10-Oct-12 15:23:56

Hate hate loathe hope these bastards die in agony and I really really mean that.

They are as evil as the worst nazis in a concentration camp, they are the worst type of bully's and only deserve to be killed.

My thoughts and prayers for this girl, many of us have precious dds her age and words fail me to comprehend the bravery if her and her friends.

The brutality and hate practised in the name if religion never ceases to shock me.

What a brave girl to fight against such oppression. Shocking news, I wish her and the other girls a full and speedy recovery.

This country is far from perfect but stories like this make you realise how many freedoms we take for granted.

xkittyx Wed 10-Oct-12 22:02:00

What a brave girl, and what comtemptable scum to shoot a child.
It's sobering and humbling just how high the stakes are for woman's rights in parts of the world.

eosmum Wed 10-Oct-12 22:02:14

Amazing child, wishing her a speedy recovery.

mrsminerva Wed 10-Oct-12 22:03:56

The Taliban practices Sharia law. A good reason why we should never allow this insidious practice to gain any hold in this country. Why does the oppression of women always take 2nd place to every other thing, like religion or community 'sensibilities'? I am heartily sick of it TBH.

caramelwaffle Wed 10-Oct-12 22:06:59

She is an amazing, inspiring child.

<bump>

AnyaKnowIt Wed 10-Oct-12 22:10:20

She is an amazing young woman.

Imran Karn (sp?) Has offered to pay all her medical bills, which must be a huge relief to her family.

GoldShip Wed 10-Oct-12 22:52:56

Grrrr why isn't this getting more attention!
