AIBU?

To not actually want the lib dems to die?

Ok, this isn't about polutics, so lets not get derailed. If you have different political views just imagine he is talking about whatever is relevant to you.

DH keeps saying that he would be happy if every single Lib Dem died. I've asked him if he is joking and he said no, they deserve it - they have enabled the destruction f the welfare state, which will eventually cause death and suffering to millions. Therefore they should be given opportunity to repent, and if they don't, he woukdn't kill them, but also wouldn't talk them down from the bridge. He says the families should be in moarning anyway fir being related to a lib dem.

Dh is against the death penalty, but he says this is different.

I am far mre active in politcs (he isn't active at all) and actually a Labour party member, Fabian, NHS service user, former care worker - I march against cuts, write blogs and articles against cuts, study social policy at uni with the aim f helping sort the welfare state out when the coilition goes away.

I still would never wish death on anyone, never mind people who semm to onestly beleive that they are making things less extreme.

AIBU to be revolted by DHs attitude?

(I would be revolted by him calling for anyone's death, but this is extreme)

He sounds very reasonable and intelligent... (not).

He sounds barking mad, to be honest. And why is he blaming the Lib Dems in particular and not the Conservatives?

Your DH is being a nob. My DH can be a nob sometimes too with his ridiculous and ill thought out views, so when he is I just stop the conversation and change it to something that doesn't require much intelligence. You can't reason with idiocy, there's no point trying.

lib dems are completely fecking useless and will jump on any bandwagon going

but

everyone is entitled to an opinion regardless of how barking it is, and if you dont like it you dont vote for them and they will, as a party eventually die out. Wishing death on individuals based on their political views is particularly disturbing.

Was he sober when he said these things?

He says that Tories are at least honest about being evil Hmm

I tried to disguise this, so it wouldn't be obvious that it was politics related, but couldn't think of any situation I could possibly disguise it as.

I mean, yes, people joke about things like this. Even MPs have told me they will raise a glass when Thatcher dies (mining area) but this is different. He is being o venomous and actively wishing death on people.

I would most probably be tempted to give Cameron or Clegg a slap. But I wouldn't wish death upon them.

Sugar - no he wasn't sober. But he has said it before, and he is drunk a lot.

Why the LD? Surely it should be the Tories he hates.
And to say he wants to kill them goes over the boundaries of political debate.
He sounds very odd.

I think he's right. The Tories are evil and open about it. The Lib Dems are lying liars who lie and then lie about that.

I don't wish them dead, but I can understand why he's singled them out.

As a lib dem, I'd be worried, except I can't give myself to give a shiny shit about an aggressive man who is 'drunk a lot'.

Is it a love turned sour? Rather an extreme reaction.
Though if he were talking about the shiney shit face incharge I might concur.
