to be OUTRAGED at what DH has just confessed?

Last weekend, DH went to the shop for some groceries and came home with a huge tin of chocolates, which he then revealed weren't for us at all but were for him to take to work for his birthday, which is in a few days' time.

(As an aside, I was pretty ill at the time with an infected insect bite which was threatening to turn into full-blown blood poisoning, so I did wonder whether he might pick me up a bar of chocolate or something to cheer me up, thought he probably wouldn't, then saw the tin, then had my hopes dashed again. A rollercoaster, I tell you.)

After DD pestered us almost to death, he then let us have two each and then another one each, after yet more pestering. I then said that he had to take them to work on the Monday as I could not spend a week in the house with DD being pestered for chocolates she couldn't have.

He has just revealed that he put them in his car on Monday but has since been snacking on them in his car on the way too and from work and has more or less eaten the lot shock

(He says he would have needed to buy cakes anyway, I reckon it's cakes OR chocolate but not both - AIBU on that too?)

nothing else to say other than

no question.

TheMonster Sat 06-Oct-12 13:07:29

Leave the bastard.

YANBU. He needs to buy both you and DD chocolate - like last Monday!!!
Hope you feeling better now.

Pagwatch Sat 06-Oct-12 13:07:55

Awful. Awful.
Unimaginably awful behaviour.

Smeghead Sat 06-Oct-12 13:07:57

I would be pissed off that he refused to share them with you and then troughed the lot himself.

But OUTRAGED, in capital letters, is a but OTT!

SavoyCabbage Sat 06-Oct-12 13:08:10

Whaaat! He's been quaffing them in the car! That is an outrage. Did he at least fashion you some jewellery out of the silver paper at the traffic lights?

Salmotrutta Sat 06-Oct-12 13:08:42

What a rotten sod!

Leave the bastard.

Cheeky beggar!

pleasethanks Sat 06-Oct-12 13:08:57

Outraged, but exactly the sort of thing i would do!

ilikemysleep Sat 06-Oct-12 13:09:41

I think you might be being a teeny bit U to be outraged. But I think there might be a good reason to send him out on a chocolate buying mission for you and dd by way of penance. He's been a greedy pig, not the devil incarnate :-)

50smellsofshite Sat 06-Oct-12 13:10:01

I would do this and not confess. Lie to the death. What kind of person does that make me?

50smellsofshite Sat 06-Oct-12 13:10:32

Apart from fatgrin

Salmotrutta Sat 06-Oct-12 13:11:03

Haha! Slow Typist Syndrome! grin

Salmotrutta Sat 06-Oct-12 13:12:34

I don't think outraged is at all unreasonable actually.

I'd whack my DH with the frying pan if he did this grin

motherinferior Sat 06-Oct-12 13:13:05

Definitely leave the bastard.

BackforGood Sat 06-Oct-12 13:13:16

LtB - no question grin

Goldmandra Sat 06-Oct-12 13:13:51

I think he owes you a large bar of your very favourite choc and you can sit and scoff the whole thing in front of him without offering him a crumb!

I, of course, don't even hide chocolate and eat it when nobody else is around, ever, promise, cross my heart,.....well not every week blush

randomswitch Sat 06-Oct-12 13:14:38

My husband once bought some nice choccy and put it In a box in a cupboard telling me not to eat it as it was for making nice chocolate mousses and things. When I, ahem, accidentally knocked the box open one day, I saw that he had been scoffing away on it! : )

SuperB0F Sat 06-Oct-12 13:14:44

Kill him.

Badgersnatch Sat 06-Oct-12 13:15:09

Can I say that YANBU and he is a bad, bad man but still have a secret stash of maltesers and green and blacks in my bedside drawer?

LonelyCloud Sat 06-Oct-12 13:15:15

The only possible way your DH can redeem himself is by going straight out to the shops to buy you a big box of your favourite chocolates wink

quoteunquote Sat 06-Oct-12 13:15:40

Make him write out a full confession, date and sign it, and have it witnessed by two independent people,

Then if you ever do want a divorce, you can prove that he was completely unreasonable.

motherinferior Sat 06-Oct-12 13:15:54

Oooh, tell DD Daddy is going to buy more choc. Then set her on him.

Salmotrutta Sat 06-Oct-12 13:16:49

What kind of choccies were they Dita - I think we can only truly judge the situation if we have all the relevant facts.

Annianni Sat 06-Oct-12 13:17:01

What a cock.

He needs to buy a new tin for you and dd to share grin
