AIBU?

It makes me utterly sick that a book teaching kids the many ways to become a celebrity including via leaking a sex tape and sleeping around is on sale with no restricted age limit!!!!

?? Not seen it. How do you propose restricting it's availability on the internet though Carlie?

Are there age restrictions on ANY books?

What book?

Are you sure it is a children's book?

I think there aren't age restrictions on the vast majority of books, I can't think of any actually although I'm sure there are.

There is a lot worse they could be reading tbh but this is where parental guidence is needed rather than age restrictions.

50 shades doesn't have an age restriction. In our tesco it's on a rack next to the nursery items and baby food! Why would this book you're talking about have an age restriction?

What a pointless thread OP if you're not going to tell anyone what the book is actually called...

Report
Ratata · 06/10/2012 13:16

It's called: It's All About The Sex Face: A Guide to Becoming A Celebrity

What makes you think that it is a children's book? It looks to be aimed at adults to me.

Are you promoting this or something? It looks like a pisstake to me Hmm

It's definitely not a children's book. And no worse than what you see in Heat Magazine, I wouldn't imagine.

I'm assuming that's the one the OP was talking about, was the one that came up when I Googled. Looks like a load of utter shite.

Books don't come with restrictions.

As they shouldn't.

Then, I don't think movies or TV shows or video games should either.

But I'm pretty radical about that.

Hiya!

Yes Ratata that's the one. I just feel that more kids will be prone to reading a book on how to become famous than one that includes sadomastic behaviour.

That's just me!

I don't know any children who would buy a book called "It's All About The Sex Face" - or any parents who would let their child read it.

Surely many teenagers might buy 'A Guide to becoming a Celebrity'-I probably would have then, despite my chances of becoming a celebrity were zero!

I don't think many people are buying it - it has only had one review on Amazon and is waaaaay down their best seller list.

zippey · 06/10/2012 16:11

Have you actually read the book, or just heard about it?

Report
OldLadyKnowsNothing · 06/10/2012 16:24

Review looks a bit, er, enthusiastic... And it's only available on kindle. Not too fired up, tbh.
