After last years brilliant campaign and wonderful song by Slow Moving Millie I am really looking forward to this years effort even though it's only October.

I have heard on the grapevine that the song being used this year is Frankie Goes to Hollywoods 'The Power of Love' but re done by the utterly brilliant Imogen Heap.

Should be well worth waiting for.

I can't believe there's a thread on this! I only just said it to my husband the other day. Whoever they have doing their ads for them at the moment is really talented. I wondered how the Christmas ad could beat the current one. It's just lovely.

Even the thought of it is making me feel all festive.

And since having DS I cry at everything so no doubt this will have me sobbing in a heap on the floor. Even if it is shite grin

LondonKitty Sat 06-Oct-12 07:52:58

Oh it won't be shite! And yes, we'll all be weeping and wanting to hug our kids. Even if they're all 'gerroff you mad cow'.

Ohh I'd love a preview.

Yanbu, I love Christmas and everything about it, including the John Lewis advert! Hate the shitty recycled coca cola advert they play every year though.

I expect you'll soon have loads of Christmas killjoys come along soon

LondonKitty Sat 06-Oct-12 08:41:59

Go away Christmas killjoys!

Yes coca cola need a new ad.

But I think I will still prefer the John Lewis one. That little boy last year looks just like mine! Even thinking about it makes me sniff a little...

<huge sentimental sigh>

What is that time travel/love one all about confused

CockyPants Sat 06-Oct-12 08:46:25

Marking place. Love a festive heart warmer JL ad.

Frontpaw Sat 06-Oct-12 08:50:13

I hope its better than the current one (the half frame 1930s/present day love story). Its poo!

I agree - you can't beat the Coke Holidays are commin', holidays are comin' ad.

GrimAndHumourless Sat 06-Oct-12 08:50:56

the time travel one is the September one, they always do a Sept one and then a Xmas one nearer to Dec

Frontpaw Sat 06-Oct-12 08:58:07

Its still crap...

IShallCallYouSquishy Sat 06-Oct-12 08:58:26

I'm not only looking forward to the advert but super looking forward to the brand new store opening where I live next week!! <loser emoticon>

Frontpaw Sat 06-Oct-12 09:01:14

I do like JL!

LondonKitty Sat 06-Oct-12 09:10:32

Oh but I love the September one! I think it's so cute! Young love being the same at different times.... <sigh!>

But age is making me increasingly sentimental!

Sparklingbrook Sat 06-Oct-12 09:21:26

I hope it is better than last year's severed head in a box one. grin

Molehillmountain Sat 06-Oct-12 09:27:08

Love the ad. Makes me feel warm and glowing. However, I still do all my Christmas shopping online or in places with three for two offers smile

Annunziata Sat 06-Oct-12 09:28:26

YANBU! I love them. Really like the new one too.

Isityouorme Sat 06-Oct-12 09:29:42

Also looking forward to the Marks and Spencer's advert ..... Love it too ....

sashh Sat 06-Oct-12 10:14:51

Will it be the boy with the dog's head in a box again?

YouMayLogOut Sat 06-Oct-12 10:18:53

YABU. All cheesy and emotionally manipulative - they just want your cash!

OptimisticPessimist Sat 06-Oct-12 10:22:11

YANBU. Hoping for a new Yeo Valley farmers one as well grin

TheHeirOfSlytherin Sat 06-Oct-12 10:26:11

Yanbu, but I hope they never change the coca cola Xmas advert. That advert is an essential part of the Xmas build up for me and has been since I was a child!

Sparklingbrook Sat 06-Oct-12 11:59:42

Who will be doing the Iceland one this year though?

BonnyDay Sat 06-Oct-12 12:00:29
