My gel nails started to peel and needed to get soaked off. I called a local salon as Champneys where I usually go for other treatments said they couldn't do it. I booked an appointment for Saturday but asked how late they opened tonight as if I could get a babysitter I could go in. The lady on the phone said she had a spot, no one else would be in and why didn't I bring him with me, if he was good. So that's what I did. I thought it was really nice of her to be so accommodating as I would not have expected to be able to do this.

All was calm, DS, 19mo calm and munching on a sandwich reading a book watching buses and cars go by. He had just decided there was something more interesting in his bag and crawled over to it smearing a little of his sandwich as he went but the lady I was with didn't say anything and didn't let go of my hands so I left it thinking I will fix that when she finishes this bit. Then the lady who owns the place came in and basically acted as if he and his sandwich were radioactive, said he needs a towel under him on the seat, he's not safe on there anyway, he must sit on towel on floor, does he not have a buggie downstairs i can strap him in, that is going to stain, I will be hit with dry cleaning bills and basically making me feel super uncomfortable.

I was really annoyed as I should have cleaned up immediately but I knew it was cleanable and easily fixed and it's not like this was a pristine never been touched before seat. Also because the calm was ruined which made DS more antsy. I was upset as I didn't want the lady doing my nails to get in trouble and also it started off like really good service and I was thinking I would shift to them from Champneys but actually I was left with a really bitter taste and could not wait to leave.

But I didn't say anything, was I being unreasonable to feel annoyed that something which started out really nice ended up as will never go back and never recommend them?

YANBU, but a sandwich probably wasn't the best choice of snack for a small child to eat in a very adult environment that is also someone's business.

You are right, it was not. I made it as a last minute decision as thought likely to keep him quiet and still for longer but trade off was a bit messier than Cheerios which is what I had already packed for him.
