Well and truly got my attention! Will organise giving blood as soon as I'm allowed (there are rules about donating if you've recently had a baby, right?).

Naughty, naughty. I have been told I can't by another poster on another thread. Becasue I live in Canada and they don't want my stinky CJD blood. Sad They never want mine. I have been rejected twice and now I can't a third time.

I will be back to normal routine of giving blood as soon as they let me back after dc3.

They keep rejecting me too on account of low HB

Very good! Grin

But you do realise, don't you, that somebody will take the thread title at face value and tell you that you are very very unreasonable! Grin

hahaha, nice one! My first response was "waaaaaaaat"

I'm booked in for my next appt, we're so diligent at giving blood here in Surrey I'm having to wait until December 21st! They're fully booked until then

I am hopeless - i gave blood once as a student, passed out, and they had to put me in a taxi home. Since then I've been rejected so many times, for different reasons (anaemia, travel to dodgy foreign parts, and most recently, having rubbish veins), that they wrote me a letter telling me not to come back Sad

That was about 5 years ago so I'm not sure whether to give it another go?

Won't need the popcorn now.

I'm too small to give blood Sad but I am on the organ donor register.

Ok you got me, and having moved recently it has slipped my mind to find somewhere new to donate, so well done. Off to find somewhere local now.

They don't want mine any more. Sadface. I used to donate regularly, and was nearly matched to donate bone marrow once.

Got my attention, but alas, they don't want my blood as I've received transfusions post partum Sad

Nice reminder. Grin i came on here really Angry

Could I hijack and also ask you to join the Anthony Nolan register. Good friend is getting his transplant this week which will give him the chance to see his two little boys grow up. He is one of the lucky ones.

I can't because I am pregnant. I doubt they will let me while breast feeding either?
so will be a good 12 months before I am able too.

You can donate when baby reaches 9 months, regardless of how baby is fed.

I am booked for next appt in January, not long since I did last one. 44 donations and counting. Grin

Like chocolateorange I'd love to but they don't want my potentially CJD ridden blood over here (Belgium). You're pretty much banned from giving blood as a Brit living outside the UK. My Dad had the same problem while living in France and he was livid as he was a platinum blood giver in the UK and had a very rare blood group. Madness.

I just checked and it is true, I can't because of my revolting, mutant British blood. Someone better give twice for me.

I can't due to being anaemic Sad
But I persuaded DP to start giving blood
(do I get brownie points for that Grin)
