Also if you are able please go and give blood.

KenLeeeeeee Mon 01-Oct-12 18:44:26

Well and truly got my attention! Will organise giving blood as soon as I'm allowed (there are rules about donating if you've recently had a baby, right?).

MrsTerrysChocolateOrange Mon 01-Oct-12 18:46:09

Naughty, naughty. I have been told I can't by another poster on another thread. Becasue I live in Canada and they don't want my stinky CJD blood. sad They never want mine. I have been rejected twice and now I can't a third time.

I will be back to normal routine of giving blood as soon as they let me back after dc3.

NickNacks Mon 01-Oct-12 18:47:45

They keep rejecting me too on account of low HB

LordLucansLostLubricant Mon 01-Oct-12 18:48:34

Very good! grin

But you do realise, don't you, that somebody will take the thread title at face value and tell you that you are very very unreasonable! grin

headfairy Mon 01-Oct-12 18:49:03

hahaha, nice one! My first response was "waaaaaaaat"

I'm booked in for my next appt, we're so diligent at giving blood here in Surrey I'm having to wait until December 21st! They're fully booked until then <polishes Surrey's halo>

Message withdrawn at poster's request.

I am hopeless - i gave blood once as a student, passed out, and they had to put me in a taxi home. Since then I've been rejected so many times, for different reasons (anaemia, travel to dodgy foreign parts, and most recently, having rubbish veins), that they wrote me a letter telling me not to come back sad

That was about 5 years ago so I'm not sure whether to give it another go?

EmpressOfTheSevenOceans Mon 01-Oct-12 18:51:03

Won't need the popcorn now.

I'm too small to give blood sad but I am on the organ donor register.

PunkInDublic Mon 01-Oct-12 18:52:14

Ok you got me, and having moved recently it has slipped my mind to find somewhere new to donate, so well done. Off to find somewhere local now.

WelshMaenad Mon 01-Oct-12 18:53:29

They don't want mine any more. Sadface. I used to donate regularly, and was nearly matched to donate bone marrow once.

BabylonPI Mon 01-Oct-12 18:53:29

Got my attention, but alas, they don't want my blood as I've received transfusions post partum sad

AngelWreakinHavoc Mon 01-Oct-12 18:56:07

I readsomewhere the other day on a thread that I cant give blood as I have had a blood tranfusion. is this true? I would love to give back the gift of life that I was given!

twofalls Mon 01-Oct-12 18:56:57

Nice reminder. grin i came on here really angry

Could I hijack and also ask you to join the Anthony Nolan register. Good friend is getting his transplant this week which will give him the chance to see his two little boys grow up. He is one of the lucky ones.

iloveberries Mon 01-Oct-12 18:57:14

Nice work.
I will register tomorrow.... Tried once and passed out but must try again.
Thanks for the nudge ;)

monkeysbignuts Mon 01-Oct-12 18:59:30

I can't because I am pregnant. I doubt they will let me while breast feeding either?
so will be a good 12 months before I am able too.

Sossiges Mon 01-Oct-12 18:59:56

Nice one! Will do as soon as possible (so looking at next summer...)

SheelaNeGig Mon 01-Oct-12 19:01:31

My haol is posiyively glowing.

AND I am working nights.

FryOneFatManic Mon 01-Oct-12 19:01:52

You can donate when baby reaches 9 months, regardless of how baby is fed.

I am booked for next appt in January, not long since I did last one. 44 donations and counting. grin

YoloOrTwice Mon 01-Oct-12 19:02:30

Am booked in for Thursday evening but as I'm coughing up shit and coldy I'm guessing I'm gonna have to cancel. Grrrrrrrr

Shesparkles Mon 01-Oct-12 19:02:45

Haha brilliant! grin

amyboo Mon 01-Oct-12 19:03:10

Like chocolateorange I'd love to but they don't want my potentially CJD ridden blood over here (Belgium). You're pretty much banned from giving blood as a Brit living outside the UK. My Dad had the same problem while living in France and he was livid as he was a platinum blood giver in the UK and had a very rare blood group. Madness.

MrsTerrysChocolateOrange Mon 01-Oct-12 19:03:21

I just checked and it is true, I can't because of my revolting, mutant British blood. Someone better give twice for me.

Sossiges Mon 01-Oct-12 19:03:43

I thought it was 6 months Fryone?
