AIBU?

To think it's a pity...

AIBU to think it's a pity that many/most of today's young men have No Idea what an unshaved/unwaxed female bush looks like? From what I see in the gym changing rooms, & hear from people whose job involves dealing with female 'bits', the norm in the under-30s now is minimum a Brazilian. And to think that 30 years ago, shaving women in labour was regarded as outrageously controlling behaviour on the part of male obstetricians... That is all.

Well they can always google '80's bush' if that makes you feel any better?

And it's fairly normal for under 30yr old males to be shaved waxed too.

I'm sure the bush will make a come back one day and all will be well in the world.

I had no idea this was the case until fairly recently. Am a hairy old-fashioned lady.

My friend's son has developed a massive crush on 1970's woman after watching some of his mum's old films.... it's actually quite sad for him I think, all he wants (apart from intellect and a marvelous opinion) is a woman who's not too pumped from the gym, or from implants, and who has hair.

Saying that YABU. Times and fashions change.

Why? What exactly do you think they are missing out on? A larger area of hair?

I think they'll be ok.

I developed a massive crush on 1970s women in the 1970s and have never lost it. Can't bear the modern hairless plastiques. Thankfully I don't have to worry about it.

I don't know anyone in RL who's 'pumped from the gym'...I do know 1 person who has breast implants though I have no idea about anyone's pubic hair.

I'm quite sure he'll find many women fitting that description unless he live in Hollywood or somewhere Grin

I'm under 30 and have a full bush. Only shave my bikini line if going swimming. I think its odd too returning your fanjo to a child like state and men loving it?? Wrong! My dh doesn't care either.

I wonder if I should go to the supermarket on the way back from the benefits office, park my goat in a P&C parking space and then shave my pubic hair off in the disabled toilets, before picking up a couple of Happy Meals to feed the kids?

Oh I forgot to mention, I might read the Daily Mail at the same time....

Well, if I wasn't married, I'd be happy to show them mine...wait...maybe not.

Honestly, what a waste of time and money! We have hair for a reason...

worra maybe 'pumped' was the wrong word... pmsl. He's not after Arnie. I think he finds today's style a bit too high maintenance and tricksy.

Maybe he should stop hanging out in town on a weekend and find a nice pub somewhere with real women who drink pints and don't have to spend an hour stripping the fakery off them before bed Wink

I also don't think a brazilian is the NORM for under 30's... maybe the norm for under 30's who took part in a recent poll by a certain magazine. The vast majority of women I know who are under 30 would have said "None of your bloody business" if asked!

You only hate it because you've been conditioned to hate it.

Believe me or not. I don't care. It's the truth.

Bored now.

Nice to know I and my bush are doing a public service for the under-30s.

Can I get some funding for this if I promise to wave it around in unisex changing rooms?

mn is the only place where so many people band together to worry about everyone elses public hair.

we have at least one thread a week with some one or other worrying about the rest of the female populations pubic or lack of pubic hair.

WHY?

Report
aldiwhore · 01/10/2012 16:39

My town's pubs are full of stereotypes. He's a young lad who finds it hard to meet someone who isn't in 'costume' as he refers to it, he fell in love with 1970's women.

Personally I don't care what happens between people's legs. If you like to go bald I have no issue, I do it myself in the summer.

I do think the whole high maintenance that is expected of women and seen as the norm is rather saddening and there are a lot of people who don the fake eyelashes, tan, fingernails, must be plucked and shaved and preened, chicken fillets in the bra, fake hair, lets get as far away from anything natural as possible who cannot see the beauty of themselves without it. Its not JUST a preference for many. I think it is sad.

But you're right LST that is a massive stereotype, but it does exist and before you say it, probably not wholly in the same argument as a shaved pubic area.

I'm with susiegrapevine - I think it's the pre-pubertalness of the hairless look which makes me uncomfortable, but hey ho. As Worra points out, a pendulum swings....

Jesus mine would be halfway down my thighs, is black and 4 foot long if I left it to it's own devises. It is just awful. It has to come off although I don't go quite as far as a brazilian.

or maybe got too much time on your hands.

Be honest and admit if you talk in real life to your friends about public hair as i can honestly say it has never cropped up and i have no idea how my female friends groom nor do i want to know.

I think it's sad too OP.
I know my DH thinks shaved is nicer but am adament now that I will remain hairy as that's what I like.

Sort've related - I was at an airport people watching the other day and was so shocked by how many men are now preening and plumping themselves. They all looked so, erm... metro sexual. Awful clothes, really over done stupid hair, I am sure quite a few had make-up on or fake tans. I really hope my DS grows up to just look normal instead of buying into this whole image that men of a certain age seem to want to be.
