Not something I would do, not something I could get bothered by if someone else did though.

You're full of the milk of human kindness aren't you? It might not be to everyone's taste but it is just a demonstration of their excitement at the new addition to the family isn't it? Hardly worth getting upset over. YABU.

I hate this. My sister always signs cards off from her, bil and the kids...and Flash, her bloody cat.

I think it's up to the indiviual. My dsis did as she wanted people to know she was pg but couldn't be bothered to ring up every one on her Xmas card list as it would have taken too long. I thought it sweet esp as she had ben trying for a while so imo YABU and even more so to be bothered by it.

but the 'bump' is a large part of their family
why shouldn't they acknowledge that?
just as for some people pets are a large part of the family

I don't mind it that much but hate it when "bump" has already been named to it says "From Richard, Judy, Arabella and Winston", when Winston is a (unreliably scanned as being male) foetus.

I wrote Christmas cards to the expectant grandparent from the bump, not us, just the bump. YABU.

I signed them from the bump and the cat last year, if you don't like it, throw out the card and go back to your scrooge cave. I think you're being miserable and UR.

You should be thankful you are getting a card. Sad I think it's fine. We announced my Dad's big birthday in the local paper from all of us and the bump when I was pregnant with DC2.

Ooh, mixed opinions, bit harsh calling me miserable / unkind! Obviously in RL I would smile and say "aaah" (while cringing inside).

Sorry to disappoint pets, that'd be good!

You can rip it into a million pieces in disgust once they have left Dozer. Grin

But you are being miserable! Why are you cringing? Surely you feel happy for your friends, and just smile when they do something silly and cutesie?

I used to receive Christmas cards from my sister, brother-in-law and 'Chewy'. That was their dog. They never had children so I thought it was a bit daft but never said anything.

I can't see the harm in it. It's sweet! I do raise an eybrow at cats, but then I am not a cat person.

I think you're being a sourpuss. I wrote 'and bump' when pregnant with dd2. I'm glad I did now because, as I lost her as 23 weeks, I'll never get to write her name in cards, even though she is always and forever part of our family.
