Sure this has been moaned about many times before, but signing on behalf of the bump, bleugh!

Ragwort Fri 28-Sep-12 16:01:54

Yuck

Sirzy Fri 28-Sep-12 16:02:14

Not something I would do, not something I could get bothered by if someone else did though.

ForkInTheForeheid Fri 28-Sep-12 16:03:25

You're full of the milk of human kindness aren't you? It might not be to everyone's taste but it is just a demonstration of their excitement at the new addition to the family isn't it? Hardly worth getting upset over. YABU.

I hate this. My sister always signs cards off from her, bil and the kids...and Flash, her bloody cat.

MerylStrop Fri 28-Sep-12 16:03:45

They are just happy and excited
Stop being such a misery

Petsinmypudenda Fri 28-Sep-12 16:03:58

I thought Richard and Judy were having a baby

<disappointed>

Alliwantisaroomsomewhere Fri 28-Sep-12 16:04:00

YANBU. Hate it. Bloody makes me cringe. Wanted to say cringeworthy, but that word is as revolting.

CailinDana Fri 28-Sep-12 16:04:18

Grump. YABU and a misery guts.

LadyInPink Fri 28-Sep-12 16:04:52

I think it's up to the indiviual. My dsis did as she wanted people to know she was pg but couldn't be bothered to ring up every one on her Xmas card list as it would have taken too long. I thought it sweet esp as she had ben trying for a while so imo YABU and even more so to be bothered by it.

cornzy Fri 28-Sep-12 16:05:02

but the 'bump' is a large part of their family
why shouldn't they acknowledge that?
just as for some people pets are a large part of the family
YABU and a bit miserable

cornzy Fri 28-Sep-12 16:05:26

xpost cailin!

KeithLeMonde Fri 28-Sep-12 16:06:13

I don't mind it that much but hate it when "bump" has already been named to it says "From Richard, Judy, Arabella and Winston", when Winston is a (unreliably scanned as being male) foetus.

SummerSolstice Fri 28-Sep-12 16:09:12

I wrote Christmas cards to the expectant grandparent from the bump, not us, just the bump. YABU.

Em2010 Fri 28-Sep-12 16:09:36

I'm going to do that this year so ya boo sucks to you! grin

EasilyBored Fri 28-Sep-12 16:13:14

I signed them from the bump and the cat last year, if you don't like it, throw out the card and go back to your scrooge cave. I think you're being miserable and UR.

Sparklingbrook Fri 28-Sep-12 16:16:03

You should be thankful you are getting a card. sad I think it's fine. We announced my Dad's big birthday in the local paper from all of us and the bump when I was pregnant with DC2.

Dozer Fri 28-Sep-12 16:17:43

Ooh, mixed opinions, bit harsh calling me miserable / unkind! Obviously in RL I would smile and say "aaah" (while cringing inside).

Sorry to disappoint pets, that'd be good!

Dozer Fri 28-Sep-12 16:18:51

Ha ha sparkling "you should be thankful you are getting a card" - MN bingo!

Sparklingbrook Fri 28-Sep-12 16:20:00

You can rip it into a million pieces in disgust once they have left Dozer. grin

CailinDana Fri 28-Sep-12 16:20:06

But you are being miserable! Why are you cringing? Surely you feel happy for your friends, and just smile when they do something silly and cutesie?

diddl Fri 28-Sep-12 16:21:32

I think it´s bleurgh as well.

I think I would hmm & do a FB defriend.grin

SometimesLonely Fri 28-Sep-12 16:22:23

I used to receive Christmas cards from my sister, brother-in-law and 'Chewy'. That was their dog. They never had children so I thought it was a bit daft but never said anything.

Aboutlastnight Fri 28-Sep-12 16:22:33

Awww

Stop being such a misery guts.

BrianButterfield Fri 28-Sep-12 16:23:19

I can't see the harm in it. It's sweet! I do raise an eybrow at cats, but then I am not a cat person.
