So Dh has been doing an extension on our house for over 3yrs now. There is still a small leak on the roof. He has had the stuff to do the work in the garden all summer. He chooses today when I am at home studying for my final exam for my degree which is in two weeks time to take the day off to do the repair, so now I am at here freezing because the door is open so he can plug stuff in, getting covered in dust, which I am allergic to with lots of loud grinding going on right over my head. He didn't even let me know that's what he was doing until last night when he'd already booked the time off and arranged for his dad to come and help him so I couldn't object. Arrggh

yes, I think I might do that, although its not ideal as I then won't have the enormous text books that weigh an absolute ton to refer to.
