brew brew brew while you're thinking about it.

DH thinks IABU. My excuse/reasoning if I need one baby DD and I are full of cold and been awake through the night. After the school run we both fell asleep and I've only just finished my first cup so really I missed my breakfast cup and I'm just catching up. Right?

LadyMargolotta Thu 27-Sep-12 11:30:01

YANBU. Make sure you have plenty of biscuit to go with it. And it sounds like you might need the wine tonight!

YAMDNBU (MD = most definitely! grin

Only because I'm on about cup # 6 shock

Ecgwynn Thu 27-Sep-12 11:31:06

My MIL frowned at me once when I suggest a second an hour after the first.

Latara Thu 27-Sep-12 11:32:34

Just drink it!! & make me one too.

Iatemyskinnyperson Thu 27-Sep-12 11:32:47

I'm up 5 hrs and have had 4 cups. I'm vibrating ever so slightly. Must switch to decaf.

MissPants Thu 27-Sep-12 11:33:00

Oh wow, it never occurred to me that chain cuppas aren't the norm blush

YANBU, I'm on my 4th too!

Pandemoniaa Thu 27-Sep-12 11:33:16

I'm just about to make the third brew of tea in 2 hours. So yes, go for it. And tell your DH to keep his views about your coffee consumption to himself!

Pandemoniaa Thu 27-Sep-12 11:34:11

Oh, and have a biscuit or several while you are at it. You've got energy levels to keep up.

ZacharyQuack Thu 27-Sep-12 11:34:48

Don't think of it as 2 separate coffees. Just think that you need to buy a really big mug.

mumnosGOLDisbest Thu 27-Sep-12 11:36:09

Thank you I feel much better now and will enjoy both the {brew] and biscuit
Also don't tell but I have wine in the fridge so might be tempted later. Ecgwynn I have the best sort of MIL, lives overseas and greets me with wine , chocolate, sweets and strong brew on the odd occasions we do visit! Ooh and she doesn't like flying so no surprise visits either!

mumnosGOLDisbest Thu 27-Sep-12 11:36:50

don't know why sweets is a link but might take a look

AmethystMoon Thu 27-Sep-12 11:36:53

I envy you, I too have a small baby but am breast feeding so one per day is my limit for fear of vibrating caffeine fuelled baby grin

mumnosGOLDisbest Thu 27-Sep-12 11:37:54

confused too much caffeine? it was a link but has gone!

mumnosGOLDisbest Thu 27-Sep-12 11:40:23

AmethystMoon I too am BF bad mum emotion needed but DD doesn't seem to mind. The wine is for after her bedtime, just a little and hope she sleeps through smile

I had a Tassimo Costa coffee at 8 (an hour after my first tea) and a fresh brewed coffee at work at 9.30 and wanted another straight after but resisted. Am bored at work though and fear a second coffee would have had me reaching for the biscuits and I'm trying to keep the weight I recently lost off!

Might have a tea now though. The most worrying thing is that I'm already looking forward to a glass of red when I get home tonight and it's still morning!

mumnosGOLDisbest Thu 27-Sep-12 11:58:16

smoothieooo Costa or any other coffee outlet coffee doesn't count surely? or work coffee part of the job description. I only count coffees made by my own fair hand, with a kettle and jar of granules. The others are different smile

LittleMissFlustered Thu 27-Sep-12 12:00:46

I need more. I've only had one and I'm flagging. Coffee/tea are necessary fuels!

DameFanny Thu 27-Sep-12 12:06:00

Coffee made with granules isn't coffee.

Life its too short for instant coffee.

(gavel time anybody?)

mumnosGOLDisbest Thu 27-Sep-12 12:09:27

Dame I lik your ruules even better than mine. I can now say I haven't had a brew all day and DH should take me out for a cup right now cake too

mumnosGOLDisbest Thu 27-Sep-12 12:10:07

Sorry baby DD is 'helping' me type!

DameFanny Thu 27-Sep-12 12:21:48

Sounds like a plan!

LRDtheFeministDragon Thu 27-Sep-12 12:28:08

You need a two-cup coffee pot and a mahoosive American-style mug. Then you can have two helpings in one mug.

It's not as if there's something wildly antisocial and uncouth about mild caffiene jitters, which is the worst you'll get.

GetOrfAKAMrsUsainBolt Thu 27-Sep-12 12:31:25

Why would anyone care how much coffee someone else drank? grin

I virtually inhale it. I don't even think caffeine has an effect now, I am like a long standing drug user who has to increase the amount he takes to get a hit. grin

Let me think......
